In my comic, there's a scene where the monster is finally defeated and then kind of "vanishes" pretty much like how defeated monsters in an anime/rpg game disapears after you've killed it. My question is, how would you draw something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

My best suggestion would be using something like the pixie dust or smoke effect where the body partly or full disintegrates into particulates. If you look at the book elemental magic it outlines how effects work and gives a good guide on how to construct them.

Something like this maybe? Two panels of continuous action since the monster poofs so quickly. Either smoke or a quick dissolve into pixels could convey a traditional RPG monster death. You could also have it turn into gold or items too if you wanted.

I would repeat the same panel several times and lower the transparency on the monster until it disappears and you only see the background, maybe 3 to 4 panels. Is that what you mean by "vanishes"? Like slowly getting more transparent?

Hmm... I was looking for something more gradual like slowly vanishing but I could use this as reference for future fight scenes. Thanks for the reply

Yes something like that. Considering your suggestion, I may have to edit my page

maybe show half of them fading/pixellating and turn the opacity of the figure as a whole down?
