Being able to differentiate between smut and something that needs trigger warnings is so important, but

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THOUGHT THAT “SEXUAL CONTEXT” AND “SEXUAL VIOLENCE” SHOULD BE IN THE SAME CATEGORY?!!! :triumph: :eyebrows:

That is not okay. No one needs to click on something thinking it’s consensual sexual content only to find out it’s a r*pe scene.

Be better, Tapas.

Woah wait, new mature button feature? I agree though, that's a big big difference that could end up triggering a lot of people

There's literally a "Physical violence" option. Sexual violence should have been in that option instead. :sip:

I also feel like "physical violence", which would cover standard fare fight scenes, or even some scenes where the characters are beaten up etc. is very, very different to what is implied by physical and emotional abuse.

While we're giving feedback: Mental Health is not an "issue" and that phrasing is horrifically stigmatizing.

And I also agree completely with the OP.

Wouldn't it be easier to leave a text box so the author can fill it themselves? Or maybe add it as an "other" option? Are those individual options used for something aside from showing to the reader?

Literally I was just about to say this exact thing!

Having "Other" and a textbox show up would be so much easier.
- It could reduce the list so it's not super long
- plus you can add examples so people can get an idea what kind of other content they can add

There at least needs to be a generic "other content warnings apply" to let creators head their own episodes with the warnings while still marking them mature, because not all mature content can be compartmentalised into a set of options.

Edit to add: if we're doing discussions, grouping truly offensive language such as slurs with casual curse words could lead to some issues as well.

Tbh, I'm not even sure what this warning is supposed to be in reference too. Suicide and self harm, and eating disorders are mental health conditions and they're separate categories and emotional abuse is also separate, so I'm not even sure what this category is supposed to entail.

Maybe a concise list instead? Severe panic attacks, PTSD, major depressive episodes, etc.

Oh that's fair. I agree with Saint though. We could have a generic "other content warning" option and have a comment somewhere encouraging the creator to specify in their episode

Hmm we will have to keep the list relatively simple. The reason we have separate sections for Suicide/self harm and Eating disorders is due to the extreme triggering nature for many survivors.

The individual selections can be combined for further clarity, Like mental health + Suicide as an example.
