Welcome @Arisala!! Subbed! I really like what you've posted so far, I wish you only the best with writing going forward.
And to your last comment, I can definitely relate to that - can be really hard to balance things. I'm in grad school, so when my work and studying get overwhelming and I start to burn out, it gets really hard for me to switch between work/research writing and creative writing and drawing.
Lately to try and get better about it I've started joining 'writing sprints' with some folks, where I just sit down and get as much on paper as I can - good, bad, nonsense, outline, dialogue, drafting, worldbuilding notes, side stories, whatever - withing a set time limit (I like 25 minutes, personally). It helps to collaborate with others to celebrate what you accomplish, and having a set time frame takes the pressure to meet some sort of big goal off and lets me focus on just getting started. That's just me though! And sometimes, life just hits kinda hard and I have to take a break; I have other responsibilities and I just try to remember I can always return to my stories.
I hope your semester goes well going forward!
And just in case you are interested in a sub for sub, you can find my novels here! No pressure of course. Thanks for sharing your work and all the best!
