OC-tober [Art Challenge]

October approaches! Like the last couple of years I'll be doing OC-tober because I like that I don't actually have to do every single day if I don't want to.

Anyway, this is where I'll be keeping track of the challenge. Anyone else doing an art challenge feel free to share or you can give OC-tober a try.

Ooh this looks fun, maybe I’ll do more sketchy stuff so I can actually complete inktober for once in my life I think the most prompts I’ve done for the month is eight??

That's my strategy most of the time, lol! I just like this challenge because there's so much freedom in what you can do, so you don't actually have to torture yourself. Also, it's good practice for stuff I don't usually do

Yesss!! Honestly yeah, color palette week does look like a lot of fun! Maybe it would be fun to introduce some new and old characters from my new webcomic I started too? I’m looking forward to this!

Surprisingly palette week is usually pretty fun even though I avoid working with colors, lol. And you should try it! Hype up your characters with some art!

Whoops accidentally started OC-tober immediately because I could not wait a few more days apparently

BUT these guys aren’t technically in the new webcomic…but everyone from my webcomic is a character I had for a while so I was like who’s new that I have? That’s where these guys come in dkkfkdksl The little doodle ones from top to bottom are Burgundy, Norta, and E-Scott, and in front in the spotlight is my favorite Korbey!!

In their plot they were a group of revolutionaries but they got kidnapped to be part of a social experiment/ new psychological torture tactic by the opposition and forced to host an insane talk show/game show … they are the Foffee™️ Hosts. But don’t worry, they ARE trying to escape the inescapable set they’ve trapped on!

You're so fast! They look great, btw, love the designs and the plot sounds so interesting! Honestly, being forced to host a show does sound like torture to me. Love the flower at the top, the colors are so pretty!

Thank you!! The plot is ever so slightly completely dumb honestly but I love absurd things Korbey is so scrungly but he really grew on me when I made versions of all of them in the sims lol I even made the cursed tv set and everything.

But yes the flowers are my favorite little thing to add to drawings, I’m really inspired by old Chinese silk paintings for my floral stuff so I reference them often ^_^

It sounds fun! It's cool when the plot is out there, but like, I wrote a story about villains trying to get invited into a jamboree so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can totally see the inspo for the flowers now. They look really good!

So far, I've done Sketchtober and Inktober. That's all I will do thought because my schedule is tight.

I'd honestly been contemplating doing OC Gush but honestly I think I'd rather do this one since it'd be an open excuse (and possible motivator) to draw, yap and post about newer sona's and game ocs

also considering Dressuptober alongside it but probably more for rough warm ups or something than full on art pieces but that'll be up to where my mood goes and work

Dressuptober looks pretty fun, it's too bad I only have time to do one challenge, but I might try it if I get the chance! But yeah, OC-tober is pretty fun and laid back. You can prep before it starts and skip days if you don't have time.

@Leyelle Aww it’s Texas 🥺🩷🩷 I love her so much! She really is adorable. It’s fun to see her showing her goofy side too, it’s like ah this is why she’s with Chili lol.

I’m working on tomorrows prompt, for old characters… which I could have taken as actually elder but I decided for just like characters I’ve had hanging around forever? Cassidy and Sabah, absolute weirdos. Cassidy’s so crunkled but I tried to draw him as less slanderous as possible here’s the WIP though

This guy's from Antemortem but hasn't been introduced yet. I really want to get to that part of the story though, lol. He's a mage and kind of a jerk, he's also made to contrast with Cassian which is why he looks like that. He's the sort where appearances are deceiving, kinda like how Cassian is actually nice deep, deep down

OH NO he's a jerk?? He’s so beautiful though, ugh whyyyy, but like I also do that with my stories, pretty jerk characters lol. Sabah isn’t like a jerk but he also is more gray oops.

IMO Cassian is cute though!! He’s just a grumpy little guy too, and we love him for that xD

New OC!

A demonic nurse whose name I haven’t really decided on yet. The concept is similar to an older OC of mine, except this one’s much creepier on account of her ability to detach her limbs (or any body parts, for that matter).
Her hands have two distinct personalities and goof around all the time lol

He's mostly nice to people, except Cassian It's such a fun character trope! I love pretty antagonists, lol.

@applebun That's a pretty cool concept! Especially the idea of her hands just doing their own thing. I love the colors and the camera screen framing, btw

I never once realized I could interpret this as a character who is old in literal age...you may have broken my brain. But it's always cool to see Sabah tho!
