Day two of inktober is themed 'weave' and day 2 of oc-tober is old oc.

So I instantly remembered my character Hyorim (from a comic I have not made yet) talking about his long luxurious synthetic hair

Of course I had to get sick today so it’s only a quick sketch

This guy is literally named Potato-kun. (I mean, that’s probably not what it says on his papers, but that’s what his cousin canonically calls him.) The name came to be when I showed his early sketches to a friend of a friend, who went “Huh, at least he doesn’t look like your generic Potato-kun”. Since I kind of suck at naming characters, I just went with that lol.
Anyway, this guy is a sleep deprived student who gets possessed by a caffeine demon (which is more metaphorical in this case, but still). I made him as part of a one shot for a comic contest which I actually ended up winning, so even though I don’t draw him really often, I always think fondly of this dude.

I've been busy today so nothing fancy. This is Eli from Vigilante, he's a grumpy college student who works at a coffee shop. Unfortunately for him, the local vigilante has a crush on him, lol.

@vapidink Well he is cute! At least the vigilante doesn't have any reason to kill him the thumbs up reads very passive aggressive so I def get the grump energy from him, and I adore grump characters tbh such a mood, saying all our internal thoughts only out loud

This is for yesterday for old characters, and I ended up revisiting a whole cast of weirdos I created when I was like 12 lol Also 12 year old me had no right to make such a disturbing ass looking creature it looked like that too, at the time I said I was the most horrific thing I had ever drawn and I still kind of think that’s true lol It was fun redrawing these guys after being ignored for so so long.

Still somewhat sick and no time on top of that (had to go to a family reunion with an annoying relative who of course had to comment on my weight. While at a restaurant.) But hey, the beauty of favorite OC’s is that I draw them a lot and have a bunch of old drawings of them!

This is Iseul, I’m sure you’ve seen her somewhere by now. She’s a shared character with a friend and one of the mains in our comic (which I’ll hopefully launch by the end of this year??).
She’s a forest ranger. A FOREST. RANGER. No affiliation with any kind of resistance organization whatsoever. Ahem.

Not wigs, weave to make his hair longer. In his story he is part of a boy band and he is know for being exceptionally beautiful, so his band members called him a Barbie at one point and he corrected them 'I am not a Barbie, I am a dainty and glamorous ken doll with long luxurious synthetic hair. Yk, the kind that turns into frizzy garbage the second it touches water."

@vapidink October is such a mood honestly, she’s actually grumpy too lol, but for some reason I thought a necessary part to a pirate crew was most certainly a seamster??? I kinda love it though, it’s so extra I was going to make a cool outfit for Uliana too but I didn’t get to it.

Also the creature was definitely inspired by that weird skinny saggy skin creature with the eyes in its palms from Pan’s Labyrinth, I’m not sure if you’ve seen it before though! One of my favorite movies, although it was not a kids movie my child self loved it?? Insane I guess

I mean, if I'm gonna get pillaged by pirates at least let them look fashionable doing it. Well, you can always go back and make some more cool outfits. I love the idea of a fashionable pirate though.

That's one of my fav movies! I was a teenager when it came out though, but I watched a lot of horror movies when I was little. Straight up Stephen King stuff when I was like seven, lol.

And Aster's definitely making a couple more appearances this month!

Oh it came out when I was just 10! My mom was kinda mad our dad let us watch it though but it’s ended up being a big influence on my work in general, Del Toro is one of my big inspos for sure! I also love horror I get it

This is a very old OC of mine named Yuko. I don't have a favorite oc for the Oc-tober prompt, but her story had one of my favorite art styles I've designed. I also think she may have been an earlier draft of Texas, at least visually, when i think back on her design. This outfit features a little crown hair pin, inspired by another OC who I really love, who always had something crown themed in his outfits because of his love for Cinderella. His story has had a huge impact on my career, so I think that puts him close to favorite status.

Feeling better today. Hopefully no more family reunions. Luckily for me, I only ever draw any of my sonas in a very doodle-y style, so here’s a whole page full of one of them

This is my most basic one really, but also the one I use the most. Basically me but without my glasses. This is the sona I use for my historical doodle comics that I draw whenever I come across something disturbing during my research and need to get it out of my system. As the picture suggests, these comics have copious amounts of dark humor and yelling at various historical figures.
