Okay, so day four is your sona or self-insert, which I don't really have. Closest is this doodle of me i use as my icon. Also, I'm probably drinking hot cocoa or tea instead of coffee

Cheating with this one. Inoa blurs (or 'murkies') the line between oc and self insert. In her original design, she was very much inspired by my childhood daydreams (I designed her when I was like 13-14) in her modern variation, her story is heavily inspired by my actual reality and life experiences but there's a lot of fiction mixed in as well.

So, today is Unappreciated OC Day! I must confess I have lots of those, but since I have to pick one, I choose Moonshine

She’s basically a double agent. Works for her country’s secret service but actually wants to overthrow the government. Definitely not someone to mess with.
On a different note, she also has a loving girlfriend and a family who have no idea whatsoever about what she’s actually doing and only know her as a quiet but caring family member. The aforementioned girlfriend is honestly quite obnoxious but Moonshine somehow puts up with it and loves her nonetheless. She secretly hopes that once her plan succeeds, her girlfriend will become more sensible, especially politically.
Also she only has one arm. That’s both the government’s and the girlfriend’s fault. Theoretically she should have a prosthetic but every time I try to draw it I screw up, so I guess that’s why she’s so unappreciated

Day 5: Under-appreciated OC

I'm going with Penny today! She's following in her mother's footsteps and dedicating herself to villainy, but she's not very good at it. Neither are her henchmen, but they try their darnest! (they usually fail, lol)

The theme for inktober was deer so here is a child version of Essence with a deer stuffie. She is definitely one of my most underappreciated characters, poor dear.

Day 6: Relationship

I'm going with Cassian and Elias because they're just hilarious to me. Elias is a thief who stole from Cassian--a necromancer--and now they have to travel together because of reasons. Here they are fighting over an apple, not because either really wants it but because they don't want the other to have it. They're besties and are totally having fun traveling together. Fireballs will be used.

It’s relationship day! I have so many interesting OC relationships to choose from, but I decided to go with Kuan and Yuna this time

Officially, they’re a powerful corporate couple, working together flawlessly. In reality, they’re basically stuck with each other forever, as their marriage was arranged by their parents and divorce isn’t really an option at the time. They used to absolutely despise each other and made each other’s lives completely miserable. After some time, things chilled down a bit, and the two of them even developed a friendship. The one thing they decided on though was that they would never have an actual romantic relationship with each other so things wouldn’t go as wrong as in the beginning again. To maintain their good reputation, they pretend to be happily married in public, hence the picture.
Not to mention that they may or may not occasionally help out some… forest rangers;)

Since the inktober theme was pierce and today on oc-tober is relationship I made a doodle of Kattar and Mrs. Moon when he first got to wear the earrings she gave him (after his piercings healed)

Out of all my OCs I think they have one of the most tragic relationship dynamics

OC-tober Day 7: Home

Using some old art because I'm feeling a little sick. Aster has lived for a while at the Magic Tower, where he has plenty of space of his own, so that's been his home. He spends most of the time with his assistant/student, Quinn. Lately, he's been living in one of his parent's home in the capital with his "husband". Here he is working at the tower.

get well soon! why is it husband in air quotes? is this a marriage contract?

Thank you! Yeah, so Aster can see the future in his dreams and he's also shown how to change things for the better. That's how he knew he had to marry Calixtus, but they're only supposed to be married for six months until Aster gets murdered (which Calixtus doesn't know about, he thins they're just gonna divorce).

does aster not know how to prevent his own murder?

There's some things he's shown that he can't change and his death is one of those things, so he's just doing what he can to fix everything else.

Texas. Because she has one of the most notable homes out of all of my characters, mainly because it barely exists, as Chili feels the need to remind her. In one of the early drafts of the strip, "inclined plane," the punchline was actually "Callie, we barely have walls and our bed is floating."

But obviously the joke was different in the final iteration.

Chili would be a too obvious choice for the prompt "personality" so instead I drew Andrew's favorite grumpy cutie Jinho. He's basically a little sweetheart with seriously unresolved anger issues. Believe it or not, this is the only appropriate reaction to Andrew at times (little bro has no filter, literally neither one of them, but they both mean well at heart. Andrew a little more obviously than Jinho)

Day 8: Personality!

Aster has an odd personality. He's very manipulative, but also nice, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ He loves to joke around and tease people, especially his assistant. Lately, he's also had a lot of fun picking on his husband about their marriage.

Yes, that is really the rumor he came with to explain his sudden marriage. Calixtus thought he was joking.

I think my doodles are increasing in quality.

I debated whether to draw him buzzcut or with hair. He has spent most of his adult life buzzed but started growing his hair out because Jinho wanted to see if his hair would still be coppery like it was when he was a kid.

Since the theme is inventory here is Andrew showing off two of the many penguin and monkey themed objects he owns. He uses them to represent him and Jinho because he thinks Jinho looks like an adorable penguin and he just wants to be a monkey lol. Since deciding that these animals will represent them he has bought them matching penguin and monkey phone cases, carved them wooden penguin and monkey book ends, carved a penguin and a monkey onto the welcome sign on their front door and so on lol. Here he's just holding two miniature stuffed animals
