Occasional Colour

My comic is mainly black and white, but I decided to make coloured pages every once and a while, using colour occasionally? Is this idea good or no? What do you guys think?

It’s a great idea. It can look really really stylish and cool. Check out the colour use in for instance the Sin City comics.

In fact my next comic will be black and white, with some details coloured in, like a flower or an animal. You can use this to direct the reader’s focus on what is important.

I do so. In Furusato House I color every 5th chapters few first pages. (Back then I did 5 or six, but now I think it's too much, so last time I did only the first 2 pages of chapter 15th.)
I don't really have feedbacks, but as a reader I always liked these pages in comics. As a creator it's simply fun to do, and I was also asked in a collaboration to left some of the first pages colored, so... yes? I guess it's a good idea. But you can still ask your readers opinion in a poll about it.

Using color is an awesome idea! And I think it will go well with your style.
Just BE WARNED!!!!! it take a lot of time, especially if you use all the colors. So, It would make sense to build that time into any announcements you might make about upcoming episode launches. Hope it helps!!

I do this for pages that are more important to the storyline or where I feel colour will make a larger emotional impact. I've also started going back and colourizing the first chapter of my story since some of my readers suggested it. Because of my work schedule and the number of pages I put out a week, colouring every page isn't feasible, so my comic is mainly grayscale. I think readers really appreciate it when you present them with pages in colour.

Our comic is mostly black and white, but during a particular section we added red for blood/glowing stuff, because we really wanted it to stand out. It would have been a lot harder to get the same feeling across otherwise, I feel, so there are definitely times when I'd recommend it.

Though one thing to consider (which was a big thing for us) is that if you want to get it printed eventually, most printers will charge you the full price for colored pages even if only a few are color (unless you have few enough for them to count as "inserts"). Luckily we found Keness, which appears to let you state which pages are color vs b/w and adjusts the cost accordingly, but most places won't do that.
