I use Save the Cat as well, and now everyone knows my secret. I basically have a set formula that I use for all my commericial stories. You'll be able to see it if you read my work regularly almost down to the chapter number that key events happen. I have very clear 'break into 2' and 'break into 3' points in my novels too and I find it works with hyping people up with serialisation.
Also, because I'm not particularly interested in traditional publishing, having a beat sheet helps a LOT when writing serialised fiction because it means that you can see where you're going to have to pace everything.
I also played with an adapted version of Save the Cat where it's a 5 Act structure instead of a three in order to adapt it for Tapas and that ended up working really well.
