Kind of a simple question, not really sure it's 'forum worthy' but thought I'd ask anyway.

You know those little 'preview' thumbnails for all your comic pages? Well, say you're posting the pages either one at a time or in multiple batches (like I've been posting them one at a time1, as of late), do you think it's better to just reuse the same thumbnail for every page of that chapter, or do you prefer to give each page it's own preview thumbnail?

I've been giving each page it's own thumbnail now, but I've been seeing people use the 'one thumbnail for every chapter' method recently and I actually think it comes off more organized and it would make uploading quicker then having to throw together a new 300x300 image every time.

If you're wondering why I'm even bothering asking then if I've come to these conclusions, it's because I was wondering if you guys consider seeing previews for each page especially important? Is seeing one thumbnail over and over again a sort of 'turn off'?

Plus I overthink small things sometimes. XD

I personally don't really pay attention to the episode thumbs when I read, but sometimes when I want to go back to a specific page in a series, a unique thumb will help if I don't remember the episode title.

As a creator, I personally prefer having a different thumbnail for each episode for variety. But as a reader, either way, I don't mind.

You've already answered your question and you should with what you feel is best for comics.

For the record, i do chapters with the same thumbnail for the exact reasons you mention.

I literally don't ever pay attention to thumbs. I use 1 chapter 1 thumb method because it visually organizes my chapters. As a reader, episode thumbs mean very little to me.

Using different thumbnails can help identify a certain episode.
That said, you don't really have to put that much work into them: I normally choose a small part of my page (usually a face) and use it as thumbnail.

I usually stick to the same thumbnail but for some pages I'll use a different thumbnail.

My thumbnails right now are the same as the comic's icon but I do plan to have different thumbnails for each episode at some point xD

I use the method of having the cover for a chapter be the thumb of that chapter - when I get to a new chapter, I'll switch thumbs.

Like you said, it's a lot faster and less work for me, especially since I update twice a week and each page takes a fair bit of time to draw - also, I've never been bothered by the thumbnails on other people's comics. In fact, I think I prefer when it remains the same - either for the entire comic (though that can get confusing, if you've structured your story in chapters and you don't upload the entire chapter in a single episode), or chapter by chapter. It's more cohesive, visually.
