There was an interesting, but unfortunately short-lived thread on the promotions subforum a few months past. Instead of your own work, you would promote the work of the person posting before you. The idea is that you read a few chapters and create a small blurb-ish piece of text for them.

I feel it is something worth revisiting. A small game to play, if you will.

Rules

  • Read a few chapters of the previous author's work and their blurb. As many chapters as you want to or as many as you need to get a small understanding of the events about to unfold.

  • Based on what you read, create a small blurb, or a poem, a silly poem even, a piece of text, silly text maybe, or a few witty sentences (doesn't have to be extensive or completely accurate) to promote the work of the author who posted in this thread before you. Be sure to add the link of their work to your post.

  • After, add the link to your own work in the same post. And for simplicity's sake, let's limit it to a single work per post. You are free to post again, if you have more than one project you're actively developing, or if you wish to give people the chance to promote your work again, but you will have to pay the love backwards again if you wish to do so.

  • I am not entirely sure how well this game translates for comics, as in my mind this is more of a writing-themed topic. But I won't bar anyone from entering. Both comics and novels are welcome here.

And as always, feel free to show some more love to any authors you find interesting. Read some more, throw a thumb up or become their adoring fan.

I will begin with an author who was kind enough to give me a review of my novel and whose developing novel I have been keeping an eye on. @blakestackman this is a small thank you.

In Elden,
a heart has faltered,
called upon a god most elder,
to make anew, and alter.

A burning ire,
left nothing but ashes,
for countless souls, their funeral pyre,
and for one, a path to action.

The one will struggle,
find one's beliefs challenged,
as he must travel a world most fragile
and heal the damage.

And my novel is below. Have at it.
