nice!!! i'm assuming it'll be your first time it makes it exciting seeing new faces hopping on, makes for more interesting stories. do you have an idea lined up or are you still waiting for it to come to you? personally, i have to narrow it down cause i have multiple ideas i could pursue ahaha (but i think i've nailed down which one i'm gonna go with)

Yes it will be my first time participating Actually i only found out about Writer’s Camp fairly recently, and i’m pretty excited! I just picked the idea that seemed the most developed and stood out to me. But same here, i have sooo many ideas (which I will save for future endeavors haha).

i participated last time and had a great time, it's especially great because of the community just a bunch of writers supporting writers

i've even made new friends from the experience, which is pretty much the best outcome sans winning ahah

i'm looking out forward to your story next camp!!

Thanks for the link, I particularly like how the Tapas staff drew attention to several other entries as runners up. It is a little thing, but it is above and beyond commitments and expectations.

Question for anyone: Have you started reading a book because it appeared on the list of July Writers Camp winners or runners up? I know that the little sample of writers who are participating in this thread is a poor representation of any larger group of readers, but I am still curious about your answers.

Hmmm...I read Tokyo Summer because it won. I've started and haven't finished (probably won't finish) Heavy Lies the Crown and Hallowed because I'm not a big fan of BL

Although I don't know if it count, but I've read my own novel on Tapas countless times, each time finding tiny mistakes (grammar, spelling, paragraphing) etc and every time I feel mortified. ^^" Link below

I haven't read all of them but I an absolutely in love with Object and Objective. Masterfully written! So, so, good, worth checking out!

I wonder if Tapas will run the next contest in line with National Novel Writers Month? (November)

We are all sort of thinking that is the best guess, a third writers camp which overlaps with NaNoWriMo. Tapas might change it up and do something different though. We might see some sort of event which involves both cartoonists and novelists.

Hmmm..I think November is the best guess. Maybe Tapas will hope for even more entries. But I've also read somewhere in the forums that Tapas is also considering having a Writers' Camp where previous entries are also allowed to be submitted, rather than only brand new works

I know this has been suggested but not sure Tapas is considering it.

If they were to run a contest for existing stories it would be a different type of contest from the writers camp. And I think it would be unfair, unless premium stories are excluded.

Perhaps a yearly best off contest -
Best Romance, Best Horror etc. and readers can vote for their best and the top five from each category are then voted on for a winner. (To make it fair Best Romance - Premium and Best Romance - Non premium).

that sounds really cool! There's a buncha really good existing series, so that'd bring more attention to them! Also, people wouldn't have to start an entire new series to enter a contest lol
