“They will all come here?” He looked at her again, fear and uncertainty running amok on his narrow face.
“They already have.” Czarclana nodded, and then glared condescendingly at her captive. “This one is important to them, especially to the Bolt Thrower. He will come with fire and thunder to destroy us all.”
“My lord, you can go there instantly ...with your sceptre.” The overseer cringed and pressed against the wall.
“Why yes, Pum.” Okarg stood up straight, nodding his head. “Now get outside and fight.”
“I am not your brother.” He spat back.
“You are indeed.” Morglem replied sombrely. “When you don the robes, and hold the sceptre you become one of us. When to chant the sacred words...”
“Where is Sora?” The Bolt Thrower roared and raised his hammer again.
“Why don’t you come inside? I am a fine hostess, I assure you.” The witch took a step back and gestured at the entrance. “The one you seek awaits you.”
"Disrespect! How much has this family fallen? Or is it from this name that you are so much like her? Will you share the same destiny as Kalina who started it all?"

“Because your feelings were all over the place. Dreaming up something naughty, were you?” I chuckled.
She blushed, clearing her throat. “And if I was? Is that something my familiar needs to know?”
“Quickly, get on, Jack!” I heard in my head.
“How the hell—”

“A chance?!”, Gareth repeated in outrage, throwing his hands up above his head frustratedly. “So you said yes, didn’t you? You threw 20 years away for something you known for 3 seconds at work. Well, I wish I knew that 21 years ago, 'cause then I wouldn’t have flirted with you in that pokey little club.” He covered his face with his hands, digging his elbows into his thighs.
Chris sat down, gently placing his hands on Gareth’s shoulders. “You know-” Gareth shrugged them off and slid further along the couch, leaving Chris’ hands motionless in the air. Lowering his arms, he stayed put and continued, “-how many times have we had someone else join us in-”

“How fare you?” She called out to Calozel.
“We need to change our strategy.” Her Alvaine compatriot called back as he shot two arrows in succession, bringing down four of the Predakren, one arrow for each pair. “These hideous creatures are unlike the Kreignan.”
"C-Can I ask you something?" the vampire put a fake, "charming" smile on his face. It used to work on people!
That only made things worse.
"You know... even though you look like some character straight out of a w*ttpad fanfic, I won't sleep with you." He said, barely lifting his eyes from his book.
“...” Roy squatted to be on eye level with Catalina. “Why did you hide from Charlotte? You’re both elite colleagues.”
“Ahh…” Catalina crawled out from under the desk. “This is so embarrassing…”
“I love you. You don’t believe me, but I love you.”
“You’re right. I don’t believe you.”

"Just as expected, this festival brought lots of nice people," says David.
"Nice people who are going to give the needy some coins, or the kind that's easy to steal blind?" asks Ava while holding a laugh.
“Aryan,” I began, trying to gently break the ice. “Could you tell me a bit more about Seraphina? Where does she reside?”
With a quiet huff, he said, “Not now. I need to focus.” His ire seemed bottomless.
“Sure,” My grin faltered for a moment. What do werewolves like to eat? “Do you… want something rare?”
“What?” She looked at me, puzzled, before clarity struck her. “Ew. No. Just like a burger or something. Well done.”
