I finished inking my latest chapter so I'll be drawing some other stuff for a few days. This is the one I´m doing now and the reference I used for the sketch!

If there's an award for most In Progress for a Work In Progress then I may win it.

Finishing colors on a piece from late July(paused on it to work on a direct pay logo/design gig)

Drama 🫢
Finally working on a big fancy drawing. I’m so happy finally being able to bring this scene to life ahh-
Man I should have included the short king in the screenshot

Decided to go back to old ideas that went nowhere and see if I can recycle parts of them into something new. I might color this one but I'm thinking it has a more black and white vibe to it. I'm also trying to decide where the sun is.

Heres some doodles im working on and a panel from the comic!

I threw down some quick colors to try and figure things out. But I have yet to add shadows, reflections, and posters so things will probably change after that.

Cowboy will definitely get brighter. As will the sign.

First WIP in a few weeks. I've finally settled into my new place (bought my parents' house - my childhood home - and have moved in to help take care of them in their sunset years (they are both gravely ill, Mom with dementia, Dad with advanced COPD). Now that I'm settled in I can devote some time to my artwork and writing!

The final image for book 1 of Finding Daecon's Way. Daecon is bringing Dion's beloved Grand Wagoneer into the colony to set up as a memorial. He is not lifting this vehicle himself - there are a dozen very large birds lifting via cables attached to the wheels, but his help was required to get the vehicle off the ground.

Rough sketching and inking:

Did a bit more tonight: Rough inking and colouring. Tonight was mostly a "writing" night, since I decided to change a part of this final chapter. Originally I was going to have this vehicle carried into the colony by a dozen huge birds, but decided that it would be more plausible to have it lifted in by a large helium balloon. Not only would a balloon be more plausible (imagine a dozen enormous birds flying in close proximity trying to lift and carry a 4000 pound vehicle!), but it will be a hell of a lot easier to draw! So, balloon it is! I haven't drawn it yet, but it'll likely just be the lower part visible in this image when I do.

Also, I realized after doing the rough colouring, that enough time has now passed that Daecon would have changed his clothes. Final inking/colouring will have him in a new outfit.

Here is a WIP of the first page of the next Tales of Beleben episode

Getting a little closer to finished now. Just gotta finish the chrome on the vehicle (why, oh WHY did I pick such a chrome-heavy vehicle for my character?!?!?) and tint/shade the windows. Oh, and draw a background.

And it's gotta be done tomorrow night, because this chapter goes live Saturday morning.

Update! Getting into rendering! (just these first 5 pages, starting on the next 5 asap)
I do simple grads for bgs (ground, sky), got that down:

...then the REAL work begins on shading the chars, detailed shading, and rendering highlights, maybe textures...

I know y'all are probably tired of seeing the same 2 panels, but I'll do one final update once that phase is over. Then I do it again!
January 6th is fast approaching!

It's only complicated cause I like it that way!
But you can customize what features/GUIs you want and how they're arranged/sized on the screen.
There are also simplified workspaces to choose from.
It's just a matter of what tools/menus you want to use and how much "drawing" room ya need.

I'm so old fashioned that I draw traditionally, but I color digitally. Also, I first write dialogue in Finnish by hand and make English translation later on. It's also a good way to show wips without spoiling too much (unless you know Finnish).
