Some of the nicest moments on the forums are when people devolve into a bit of a natter, and we get to learn more about eachother and relate as people. It's a nice break, in among the art talk and the discussions. However, they don't last long sometimes, for fear of derailing a thread (fair enough.) Ever since I joined Tapas a few months ago, I've pretty much started opening my eyes to other realms within the comics community. I would like to continue that by seeing if anyone here reads any independent comics. You can share any independent comics that you've read, whether it was self-published or distributed by Image, Dark Horse, etc. A description of the comic and an explanation as to why you enjoy it would also be advised. I look forward to seeing what you end up sharing.

I'm pretty new to the forum, but I have found it to be a wealth of information and just plain interesting topics that folks muse about through the day. My fav is the first one I ever posted because I got so much amazing feedback in it and I can refer back to it with ease.

IDK about ya'll but backgrounds have always been something I've admired when I see them done, but dread the thought of doing them. I really like this post because it's nice to hear folks talk about their work in non demeaning ways. Growth and change is awesome and something to strive for, but you don't have to flagellate yourself along the way.

I'm glad I finally started my series on 2020. Before that I'm proud of having courage to start posting stuff i made online since 2014, from creative blogs, webgames and now webcomic.

Then there's this one that isn't a huge discussion, but the tip in there about how to make your comic link show up in the forum with the banner annoyed me for hours and then I found this thread and was like....THANK YOU!

In way this is my first Webtoon but still the most recent comic I've made of many. This is the first scroll format comic I've made, and at a total of 65 regular pages it's also a full graphic novel! I don't trust serialized stories, and I feel I'm missing out

In my experience, most of the ongoing webcomics I start reading mysteriously drop off at some point. For example, about half of the comics I've subbed to on Smackjeeves are no longer active; some have been out of the game for almost a full year. Real life is full of stuff so weird, you'd think it was made up on a spot by a drunk writer. In my fiction I tend to work with the "real life clause" in mind. Meaning, "you can't say that it's unrealistic if it existed in real life" protection from criticism. Going on the run from stormtroopers and the rugrats, accompanied by Brian Griffin, the Gorillaz, a giant Squirrel, and Tom Baker. 3. People on here who started drawing late*... What made you find art for yourself, what stopped you before? Do you think starting late gave you an advantage or a disadvantage in your journey?
