Posting novels: Tapas vs Wattpad

Do you noticed a difference in engagement between these sites? Which one promote growth more for creators?

I feel like you have a chance to get more attention on Tapas as long as you post regularly at least once a week and have polished visuals and a good blurb. When I first started here, I posted regularly and worked on my banners/thumbnails/covers and I got featured like twice in a couple months. On Wattpad, there's a ton of potential readers, but it's very difficult to get any eyes on your story. There's also no forums to connect with other creators and get a jumpstart.

It also depends on the genre you write in. Romance, werewolf, mafia stories and fantasy do well on WP. Not sure about Tapas, but I do see a lot of fantasy/isekai stories. I'd say, if you can put out good visuals to draw people in, Tapas is your best bet.

In my case, there is engagement on Tapas. That's the difference.

I have found almost zero readers on Wattpad, even though my novel is ranked fairly high (#60 or so in nonfiction out of 47k stories). Few views, fewer likes (or "votes"), and fewer still subs (or "followers"). I don't even see any way to promote it there. As Bulgariansumo said, there is engagement here. There is none there.

Honestly, neither is good for novels. The vast majority of Wattpad's readership comes for fanfiction. They're trying to be more "legit" with their serial fiction platform and offering published books, but if you aren't a Wattpad girlie, most people assume the writers there are 12. I had a hard time building an audience because everything had to be YA/NA.

Tapas was easier to build an audience but it doesn't give you much in terms of a future.

Personally I think Wattpad is better to use it as a platform to connect with other authors and to learn the craft whereas you are looking for readers, I think Tapas is the better option as you are able to find readers here.
I ran 20+ in one of the tags in Wattpad and I still feel like there aren't actual readers reading it (the reads I assume are from all the awards and from my authorly friends (read4read))
