Here's a question to any writer out there.
What other websites do you have experience posting your works on, and do you recommend them or do you hate them?
Also use this as a chance to shill if you'd like to. I will to if you want to if your looking for anything interesting to read.

I have my own website - nachosconcarne.com2 - and I can't say it hasn't been inconvenient. Although I am starting to explore some comic sites to grow a bigger audience.

I post my novel also on Royalroad. This is the first time I've tried using it and so far it hasn't been anything special.
In the beginning my story got a lot more views there compared to Tapas but on every other part Tapas is better. I have more followers, comments and likes on Tapas than on Royalroad. In fact I haven't received a single comment or rating (people can rate your story out of five on different categories) there while on Tapas I've at least got a few comments. The series has almost caught up on the views as well.
But I don't really promote my series there so I don't know if it'd make a difference in anything. I just schedule my uploads and let the series be. I've also heard that other genres do better than others. Fantasy and litrpg seem to be popular there while my novel is a high school romance.

But I'd say it's worth a try.

I post on deviantArt (and archiveofourown Ao3 for fanfics) but deviantArt is not exactly suited for chaptered stories. It does decently for short stories but there's still not much of an audience.

So far, Tapas has worked out quite well for me though!

I used to use Wattpad which got me a decent number of followers and people reading my Novel...but I just really don't like the UI and honestly I got overwhelmed with all the spamming, so I took a step back and focused on Tapas. I'm trying out RoyalRoad, but only as a passing interest, not putting that much focus on it.

Along with @ivanskilling, I do agree that DeviantArt is not suited to Chaptered Reading, more Short Stories.

For my novel I use Tapas, Quotev, and Fictionpress.

Tapas has so far been working the best for me. Its easy to figure out, has a decent community, and is just overall organized the best.

I've had some success with Quotev as well, but you have to constantly promote the hell out of stuff and the forums can be a challenge to find, so that can get irritating. Overall though, my experience there has been mostly positive. People there are pretty chill, and there's a bunch of people that offer really detailed reviews if you ask them.

And then there's Fictionpress. Fictionpress is.... not that good lol. It's a sister site to Fanfiction.com so you'd think there'd be a lot of traffic there, but that's not really the case. Its kind of a ghost town, and theres no way to really interact with readers or reply to reviews other than DMing them.

Also, just gonna drop my novel here for anyone looking for something to read, since that seems to be what everyone else is doing. Go check it out if you're interested!

Other than Tapas, I also post my novels on Webnovel, Wattpad, TapRead, and Rogue Animal Publishing. My novels have decent engagement in those sites. Like, my BL story has more readers/comments/subs on Tapas and Webnovel, while my transmigration w/ FL story has more interaction on Wattpad. Both get equal comments on TapRead.

Webnovel and TapRead are prone to aggregator sites, though. It's hard to get exposure on Webnovel unless the story is more about cultivation and CEO. TapRead is still pretty new so some things don't function on their site, like stats. But it's easier to be featured there because there are fewer titles compared to other sites.

It's hard to format your posts on those sites as well.

What I don't like with Wattpad is that they don't have scheduled function, since I often schedule my posts.

For Rogue Animal, you need to submit to the admin and they'll be the one to update your story.

Yeah that's the major thing I hate about Wattpad, it's why I don't update on there often.

Hi! Sorry for the very late reply. Yes, it is decent, and the site admins are helpful if you have questions, etc.
