I love reading a good webcomic, but I'm slowly being driven INSANE. Whenever I check out a comic on these promotion threads there's a too damn high of a chance that it starts off exposition dumping like their life depends on it. I've grown to hate this trope with a burning passion. I'm now afraid of checking out other people's comic because of it. It's all gone too far. Help.
I want to see exposition explained in interesting and natural ways, not just carelessly thrown at me. Especially if it's at the beginning of a story, since I have no reason to care yet.
Don't get me wrong, if exposition dumping doesn't bother you, that's fine and valid. And there are occasional cases of what would be called "exposition dumps" that are pulled off well. But I don't trust any of you yet. So no exposition dumps, please.
Note: Exposition dumping is not to be confused with narration or leaving small pieces of exposition in your story.
Light Rising is my comic, and I do not exposition dump in it at all. Go read it if you want! I will check out yours too and probably subscribe (so long as you don't betray by doing an exposition dump jumpscare >:[[[[[).
