THE ROLLING STONE explores what its like finding meaning and purpose in life as well as other stuff like the unfairness of life

there are many themes to the Knights Chronicles , one big one is racism and religious zealots as seen with the heavens alliance pure hate to any chimeran or in general any who don't think like them, some ptsd and mental health themes with each of the main heroes coming to terms with the violence and death they all brought years ago , but the main themes for the story as a whole, as it will be more apparent in later chapters, is hope and the determination to stand up and fight for what is right even with the odds against you

Thanks for the tread!

Some of the themes that my comic Auster will deal with are:

Mental Health issues: Focusing mostly on Social anxiety, self-harm, depression, PTSD, and suicide but some others will probably be mentioned along the way.

Child trauma and child abuse: Most of the characters went through hell in their childhood.

Getting over your past or learning to survive in spite of it.

Superpowers and some fantasy/sci-fi elements: People develop abilities related to their trauma and suffering. Some of them can get to be pretty bizarre. And even though the story is set in our times there are some sci-fi and fantasy elements to it.

Although Silent Whispers is currently at its beginning phase, here are some of the themes it touched on so far:

Inequality & Perseverence - Life isn't always kind, sometimes it is cruel. So.. when conflict arises, how will you handle it? That may very well play a huge part in your potential 'ending'. After all, Perseverance is often the key to overcoming obstacles. Although it could seem endless at times, but it tends to be worth the hard work at the end

Loyalty & Family - Loyalty can be a double-edged sword, however... having a group of supportive individuals when you are in need of help might as well be. However, what if the opposite happens? What if your so-called 'family' ends up turning their backs on you? Then it could possibly cause you a very harsh awakening to reality.

Hope & Innocence - Your mindset, your hope can impact you greatly on how you see the situation and what you choose to do about it. In times of hardship, hope can act as limelight in the midst of darkness. As for innocence, it can vary, while some may reminisce the simpler times, back when the worse thing that could happen in life is when you failed a test. However, viewing the world through rose coloured lens can make you ignore the red flags in life and possibly cause you to make a decision you will regret later on.

What it means to be Human - The definition of being human, is it because of our inventions? Our evolution through time? Or is it due to something less materialistic, our emotions or our minds? The definition of being human is often something that can be grappled with and would most definitely be elaborated in the future chapters

And Most importantly, Self Discovery & Self Acceptance - Sometimes in life, we can get lost and lose ourselves with various influences or struggles in society. however, We can always learn to come to terms with who we are and begin our journey back home.

Interested? Here's the description below!

In this technologically advanced generation where we are continuously connected yet constantly isolated, the feeling of invisibility can be quite deafening as a result. Even so, when night falls, people from all walks of life gather at this particular place. A blissfully tranquil land where any memories can be found amongst countless levitating, multicoloured bubbles. Nevertheless, there was once a girl with an enchanted quill who stood in the fragile veil between these contrasting worlds... Determined to record and make known the symphonies of the countless travellers who have traversed the land. Who knows? Your symphony may be lying in wait amongst her collection...

Ooh. Ok. This one made me think about. Lol. But here we go!

The Last Goddess explores themes of:

  • self-discovery / what a person deserves
  • grief
  • relationship building
  • trust
  • perseverance

Tempest explores:

  • self-discovery / finding your place in the world
  • toxic relationships / abuse (particularly in a familial setting)
  • secrets / honesty
  • friendship

Not that far into my comic and can't promote what's not been written yet, but what the heck, I wanna discuss themes :'D

The main theme of each arc in bitwam1 is:

Arc 1 - People try to minmaxx and find exploits when playing games, but rarely apply that strategic mindset in real life.

Arc 2 - Manipulation and attention seeking. Guilt, responsibility and blame. How people can be genuinely hurt even when it's no-one's fault.

Arc 3 - Listen to the people around you, but it may not solve all your problems. Sometimes, you need to do what no-one else has done to find a way of life that suits you.

Arc 4 - Defending your boundaries, and manoeuvring yourself into a position where it's safe to let someone who's hurt you back into your life.

The themes behind "Lyza's Sandstorm": Siblinghood (Sister and brother dynamic), Survival in a very hostile world, Hope and Badassery.

Tales of Teleios is a story seeks to express some modern day human right issues in the setting of Ancient Greek alternative historical environment. Using the cringey mythical deities tropes, historical figures and some less popular ancient literature. The story explores multilayer meaning and might be executed poorly due to my own limitation in the command of English language.

The main theme covered is on Eugenics. That't the main reason why I use ancient Greek as a setting. The story mainly is about the idea of "well-breed" human, and the antagonists seeks to achieve god-like state by whatever method.

The story also covers several smaller topics which mainly surrounds the 4 main characters.
While I would like to let the readers to decipher them by themselves.

Now, I admit that I can‘t pin-point all the themes in my project all that much - mainly because it‘s gonna be a long one exploring a very wide variety of themes.
Since I‘m currently doing the first Part of it, some more prominent themes - what I think is gonna be more noticeable - in it could be things like:

  • dealing with misery & tragedy and how to move on from it
  • dealing with the consequences of ones own actions and learning how to live with them
  • basically lots of character growth, growing up & finding oneself
  • the (real super)power of teamwork (sorry xD) & found family
  • living up to certain expectations, but also defying some

Like I said, I can‘t and don‘t really want to pin-point it all that much, since it‘s more of a project I‘m want to have fun with and I‘d rather leave things up to the reader to figure out ^^“

My comic explores themes like vampires, blood, revenge, and betrayal. These themes are supported with biblical and historical references.

Have to admit this one made toughie. Its been quite some time since my last literature class so please excuse me as I dig out some old skills.

Here are the themes for the story so far.

Mental Illness The main character Dorothy struggles with anxiety, depression, and self doubt while side characters have their own hidden traumas. She often walks a fine line of differentiating what is her mental illness and what is a byproduct of her psychic abilities. The larger question being what is the source of such disorders; external, internal, or both.

The nature of Wickedness Are we bad because we misbehave or because we don't adhere to social standards? Is a witch wicked because she is evil or because she is ugly?

Freedom vs security Do we owe loyalty in exchange for safety or do we take the risk of liberty and trust in others? When government fails who does it fall on to fix it the citizens or those in charge?

Power and responsibility With great power comes great responsibility or the opportunity for corruption. What happens when someone is thrust into a leadership role and is wholly unprepared for it?

Okay, let's see...

Egotism and the version of ourselves that we present vs. who we really are - All the characters put up the version of themselves that they display and I like to explore why they present themselves in that way

Different kinds of relationships and how we choose to interact with others - the characters agree constantly, but specifically the kinds of arguments are important though what they want in the way that they interact with each other What the characters say to each other and why they say those things

long term miserable experiences- what long term bad times have people gone through and how does going through that change them. How does a person's behavior connect with that experience? As the tagline says, Who were you then? Who are you now?

Hello, my name is Clever Goat my novel is called "Anthropology, Group Projects, and Anxiety." The genres are Slice of Life, Comedy, and Drama. The themes that I aim to explore are loneliness, mental health, sexuality, family relations, diversity, friendship, and youth.

My web novel Jade Kingdoms covers a few personal themes:

Generational trauma: How to end the cycle with yourself, heal from it but also realize you cannot save everybody from the hell they themselves have created and choose to stay in. There's no need to be the hero and heal everybody in the family, just do your part.

Unlearning: A lot of stuff is carried by our shoulders but might not even be our burden to bear. Learning to let go of these convictions and installing new healthy ones is how you heal.

Don't be afraid of the dark: The darkness within is also part of you. Your own darkness is meant to be ugly and a confronting mirror, but learning to explore themes such as the depth of your anger, the vile pit of your jealousy and perhaps even the amount of contempt you hold can help your understand other aspects of yourself. In order to control these emotions, you have to understand them too, and my novel is going to go deeply into this section.

Soft strength: People have a ridiculously warped idea of what strength looks like. Enduring, waiting, and pacing slowly through life are also examples of strength. They are not weaknesses, and just because it is assumed someone is frail or helpless doesn't mean they always will be. This section is probably the main theme of my book, and a reminder there are various types of strength.

I think the themes shift slightly as the story goes on. The first "book" (arc, season, whatever) is based more around how far you will go to fight for what you believe in, and the toll that can have on a person's mind.

The second book is a bit different, sort of asking the question of how much free will you really have when you are in service to someone (or something else).

All good fun :stuck_out_tongue:

My fanfic here has themes of family and friendship mostly? As well as staying determined (haha undertale)

This is an interesting question. Definitely, something I actually have to think a bit about. I think some of the main points my tale ends up exploring are the following:

  • Power Disparity
Most of the main cast can eviscerate an entire village with a snap of their fingers. They're all power-hungry and that ends up causing more problems than fixing them. Such is the way of war, but things start to get a bit more interesting when people start using tactics other than violence and coercion to succeed.

  • Imposter Syndrome
One of the things that a lot of characters show, and this ties directly into the first point, is their severe imposter syndrome. Legacy is a big influence on the cast and many characters who fall further down the family tree have this huge overarching fear that they won't live up to their predecessors. How they overcome this is explored in various ways in future episodes.

  • Death and the Afterlife
Another interesting point is how death is handled. There is an entire character in the story (who will be revealed in the next episode!) whose entire purpose is to figure out the connection between life and death and ends up going on a whole arc of self-exploration, for better or for worse. I like the idea that the character that death is not the end, rather a transition, and the real question becomes "What are we transitioning towards?"

  • Mental Illness
There are a few characters that exhibit some bespoke mental afflictions, but for the most part, almost everyone including NPC's either has or ends up having some kind of trauma or PTSD from the war. It gets so bad that it gets passed down through generations as well. Some characters' actions have some extreme lasting effects on entire races and populations which leads to my next and final point.

  • Racism
While this is a commonly explored topic in most fantasy settings, I feel that the racism experienced in Descendants of Ether has the opportunity to offer a different angle, since the story is told from the perspectives of each faction of the ensuing war. Since the war affects the greater world around it, there are severe ripples that flow throughout the population of Chao that affect how citizens view some of our characters and vice versa. One of the things that stand out, in particular, is how humans are treated. Widely considered as a cursed race, humans are hunted down and usually killed on site. Few people accept humans as they are, but they are otherwise depicted as a protected species.

My comic is mostly about selfgrowth. Both my MCs (or pretty much all characters in the story) have some bad character flaws they have to overcome. Especially, in regards of their actions. They have to suffer for them :smiling_imp:

Also the devision between poor and rich is a topic that will come up quite often. One of my MC is from a whealthy family and because of that gets away with pretty much every bullshit he is doing. This directly affects his rival, who isn't that lucky.

There isn't much political stuff happening regarding the characters other than having wait in lines to get into a district and codes for citicens tatoed into their skin. There is alot going on in the background though but none of them realise anything until the end.

New / old technologies. As a fun note, I wanted to experiment a little with the technology in this story and how the people would survive in it. On one hand, they are very far with medical themes, like literally having trees that grow painkillers or having mechanical limbs (They didn't invent it though, everything is from their Hi-tech ancestors). on the oder hand they don't have usefull electricity and relly heavily on every bit of old technoligy they can find.

As an example, they have some sort of stirling-engine mudbike, which is powered by an energy rich stone from the past.

But also have to use ice to cool their food.

My story explores:
Memory : as a tool of both community building and othering. The MC-- Sao-- comes from a clan where clan members alive and dead share their memories with one another through a sacred ability. This power is craved by evil men for their own gains. There are allusions to real world weaponization of memory, such as White Supremacy and Colonialism.
Allyship : as Sao ventures into a new world to save his clan, he must decide whether to help those he meets and bonded with, or ignore them and continue on his quest.
Crime and Punishment : in the story, the robbers, sex workers, and raiders are seen in a more sympathetic light, as product of an oppressive system. The story questions who influence laws and who most often get punished.
Revolution as characters try their best to unlearn and fight against an oppressive system on their journey.

Inner beauty baby and how artstyle doesn't matter!

Not only does it talk about superficial people, but it also talks about art in general and how people conform to tropes in order for their stories to become successful. But strip that style away and what is your story REALLY about?

Summary
Naota Nakaoka was just your typical harem hearthrob until his life was cut short. Now he's been reincarnated .... as a stick figure. How will he be able to rebuild his harem in a world where where anime tropes (and faces) don't exist???
