My comic might also fit what you're talking about. It's here. While neither of my protagonists are going to be following laws set by authority figures (they're outcasts and eventually outlaws), they are following a moral compass and are incredibly loyal to each other and others, especially my female lead. She's going to have to deal with the consequences of what it means to help people who technically should be her enemies in the near future. I'm still not too far into it and it's totally ok if you don't end up enjoying it..

If I could recommend my own comic I would, but my characters are mostly conspiring little sneaks.
Aetherwing might be to your liking though; the two protagonists seem to have genuine convictions. It's set in a fantasy world where there's some prejudice between the races, and a force that appears to be a big bad evil. Updates are pretty frequent too.

I'm still pretty early in my comic Fragments of the Forgotten Ones But most of the main characters are good people. They try to stick to good morals. But every once in awhile they are faced with a hard decision.

I actually really, really like the description you posted! I feel like livNPC fits it, but I'm always very iffy about recommending it to people when taste is so totally and entirely in the eye of the beholder.

99.9% of the characters have all had their loyalty purchased by one of the six main bosses, so their loyalty rightfully belongs to that boss regardless if they do or do not like the boss or their other co-workers. The main themes are “loyalty”, “forgiveness” and “favoritism” and each take turn straining and improving the key relationships.

My only warning is that it's a long read. The official site version is up to Chapter 62 and the Tapastic mirror queue will probably run until September this year. My sincerest apologies in advance if it isn't to your liking.

@MichelleAntisocial Well, loyal and trustworthy are not the same thing (though they do have a large overlap), but I'll check out your comic and see!

@LogantheAdventurer I appreciate the honesty. XD Though I'll check out your comic (as well as Aetherwing) anyway; I do have one "conspiring little sneak" character (not in my current comic) who somehow manages to fit that description!

@grovylegirl Well, good and lawful aren't the same thing. You can totally be lawful and a horrible excuse of a human being at the same time, or the opposite: a chaotic saint. I'll check out your comic and find out for myself, I guess! Hard decisions make awesome stories.

@amymoneyearnsfo I know what you mean. I always feel iffy about recommending my own stuff because I feel like I'm 300% responsible if they end up not enjoying it. :U

Hmmm. Well the first one that pops into my mind is Simon Sues by Myung Hee Kim.

I scanned through my reading list and yours and came up with a few others you don't have that sort of fit the bill as well:

Hacheeachkee by MylCreates
SIN by Quirkilicious
E-Depth Angel by Mayshing

These three are kind of a stretch, since the characters aren't entirely trustworthy all of the time (specifically SIN and E-Depth Angel), but the main characters do have a strong sense of loyalty to those they care about. Hacheeachkee fits the description a bit better.

A final one I'm just going to throw in here is Jack, The American Ghost. I decided to take this one out since none of the characters particularly fit the description -although it can be deceiving at times.

oh man, jumping right into the most poorly understood D&D alignment axis! xD
For those who aren't familiar with the terms as (I believe?) they're being used here, Lawful tends to mean people who believe in some kind of system, and tend to value the good of the group/society over individual exceptions. Whether that's a violent member of the mob who follows and enforces the rules of their Family or a nice person who believes following the rules is the right thing to do even when it's hard, they're lawful.
Chaotic people tend to value the good of the individual is more than the group, and tend to believe one size doesn't fit all when it comes to the way people should live. Whether that's the total jerk who's just looking out for themselves and doesn't think the rules should apply to them, or the kind-hearted rebel stealing and cheating to help the oppressed because they believe it's the right thing to do, they're chaotic.

I don't think I read.... ANY comics with lawful leads! xD My own comic has three main characters and one of them is quite lawful, but one of the others is pretty chaotic in the "I care about people a lot and I'm gonna do the right thing regardless of the rules" way, so I think defining D&D terms is the most help I can be here. xD

This lawful convo has started me thinking .... is Teb lawful good? And ...no. Is she trustworthy .... er .... nooooooo ... she's good and loyal, yes! but she'll act outside of systems and against people she cares for as a means of doing the 'right thing'

Trying to think of some i read that do fall in line .... i tend to like 'do-er' who rebel against systems even when working inside of them. jeez a lot of this is based on perception, its really hard to get a hold on

I .... think that my comic would fit in this description. There's one character that's just been introduced who hasn't settled yet in the comic and is more chaotic (..in a genuine way :'DD). One of my main focuses in the series is friendship and loyalty in it. But I'll let you be the judge

also the first pages NSWF warning is because I'm not sure if dead body is too much so I'm playing it safe.

I'm not sure what other comics I could recommend, but I will be checking out the ones people gave here

I guess I could recommend my comic, Arc29 it's about a character growing and becoming more responsible in the face of a difficult situation. He has a strong moral code and is very loyal and trustworthy and, perhaps naively, expects the same from others.

Hard to say if it fits your description, but I believe it does if I'm reading what you are looking for right (I don't really understand DND references well?? At least I think it's a DND character creation/trait reference (or at the least a popular method??) I duno I mostly only recognize some of the terms from DND memes. So my understanding of what these words mean in English, how they relate to the characters, and it's relevance to character creation may not be exactly the same as you (it took a few read through for me to figure out in my head)

I was reading this description and though it feels weird to recommend my own comic, but I'm going to toss my comic The Pale, into the mix! It's just starting (12 pages in) but it sounds a lot like what you're looking for. It's a big hope that people can read this issue and really get a sense of the characters and the interactions.

Also, I mean, how more lawful can you get than a small sheriff's department in the middle of nowhere?
