--it's really an interesting take on fantasy, so for those looking for a high fantasy that isn't just about war but also dives very deep into identity, complex romantic relationships, and many different species with very different and distinct cultures, it's got a lot of moving threads. It really goes unexpected places.
And for another rec, I'm gonna put Veraca's Nearly there Nicely since I don't see it on here yet, and it definitely meets your word limit (like this is more like 3 books that they put very nicely in one place):
It starts as a gender-bent cinderella story and then it veers into a drama of gods fighting for power and the humans who got trapped underfoot, trying to defy their own fate. I liked it's magic system too, which is less about inherent magic, but getting hella cursed by a god, and all the issues that arrive with that.
