Recommend Spiritual / Philosophical comics

looking for comics that have spiritual / philosophical themes. Preferrably anime/manga style but any style will do.

Kind of depends on what you mean about "spiritual" and "philosophical" themes. When you truly think about it almost every form of writing is philosophical as it's a point of view outside your own. I mean I make comic strips that question the ethical values/thoughts of daily life (school, work, politics sometimes) from time to time. Spiritual as in religious? I mean if you are I think most people on this site are going to be agnostic (me included). If you keep an open mind you might read something and it can come off as being spiritual. If you could be explain a little bit more specific people might be able to help you out better.

I'm not sure what you mean by spiritual exactly but my comic Marked does have Christian themes, and it's in anime and manga style.

Spiritual is not necessarily religious. One can be religious without being spiritual or vice versa... Anyway that's a whole other discussion topic.

To expound on what I originally meant... Is comics that have deep themes... Doesn't matter what religion or ideology the author is trying to showcase. Questioning of society, politics, overall meaning of life, etc.

I personally am a spiritual Christian... But I do believe what the Bible says about reasoning together and how the truth will set you free.

I was born into a Catholic family... Became an atheist later... Then that didn't work out... Tried new age beliefs... Reiki... And all these "channelings" from the aliens... and a little bit of dabbling in witchcraft... Didn't work out either... And now I'm a spiritual Christian.

I don't believe in denominations... I'm not part of any big church cuz most of the time they teach the watered down gospel and/or justify their own sins... Another topic altogether...

Anyway I've always kept an open mind and I don't stop putting my faith under scrutiny and question. This is why I keep my ears open to multiple viewpoints out there.

Because at the end of the day, the truth shall prevail and the truth shall set you free.

I would tell you to check mine cause i read ancient greek philosospy and i'm planing to put a lot of ideas in the next pages/chapters but i'm
no there yet so i won't...plus it's manga style , anyway it's good to see people who have spiritual conserns

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but you can check out our comic and see if it's something you would be interested in.

The story will continue to deal with other issues as well, but they are not always so obvious as it they are in this beginning chapter, but do check it out if you have the time and we hope you will be entertained.

I'm slowly writing a comic that largely deals with the life of an immortal messiah figure and his disciples, set in a world where the question of religious truth is largely unasked.

It's certainly not an action comic, and even though it has mildly anime style drawings it's presented in a heavily western style. I'm aiming to write in more philosophy once I've established a grounding for the characters to discuss it. Check it out, but be warned I update slower than an Early Access game on Steam.
