another 40 year old here, I used to make comic strips when i was an Art Student, I got back into comics a couple of years ago. at the moment Its gag a week stuff, but i am writing a longer story for the characters

Will be half way to 60 by the end of the year. I don't feel old at all. Inside my head I'm a mix between a little kid who just want to draw, and a very old man who has a really hard time keeping up with the world.
Whenever somebody talk about something that happened 10 years ago I immediately think 1995-97 for some reason.

I personally like being an older creator. I think it gives me more real world experience to work with when i'm writing.

When I was in my late teens or early twenties (pre-internet times) I read that aspiring cartoonists tended to become better storytellers after they clocked in more real life experiences. I'm not saying I'm better than other twentysomethings, but I'm better than I was. You meet more people, learn more things, read more books, play more roles, have more experiences, learn ugly, scary, startling or funny truths, go places, do things. All material fuel.
