Most of the romantic cliches I hate the most tend to happen in BL, which is the cause of me avoiding most comics with that tag. There just so much wrong with the horrible romance tropes like master slave, rape, abuse, and rampant homophobia (MC CONSTANTLY going on about how they're NOT GAY, 'I like him BUT I'M NOT GAY!' 'I'm totally NOT gay except for this guy maybe' OR the even worse opposite 'I'm such a horrible person because I'm gay, I deserve everything that's happening to me because I'm gay. I'm getting raped because I deserve this because I'm gay) that are so common it's feels like it's the only things you'll ever find in BL. How to fix it, DON'T FUCKING MAKE IT ROMANTIC. It's not. Rape, abuse, and homophobia is not friggen romantic.
And yeah, as mentioned above, the NOT BL where one if the female and the other is the male. How to fix that... either make it a story about a girl and a guy, or make it an ACTUAL story about a guy and a guy and not the equivalent of a 'game skin that changes the look of your character'
For a not centred on BL one, the 'hot person notices the nerd because makeover or they don't have their glasses on' is a fucking eye roller. How about noticing them despite how they look? Or the awkwardness of thinking someone is cute even though no one else does. There's just so many other directions to go other then the 'makeover, they hot now so everything is ok and good to go' route.
Stalker = cute or romantic. No... and I don't even know how to fix this trope besides just please find another way to show that character A likes character B.
