I'm looking to basically see where I can make improvements on my voice acting and overall way of how I approach doing audiobooks. The video I have below is a monologue of a character from my story named Nelson.

If you have any monologues for your characters please feel free to send them but also try to direct me a little bit as well. This is all for fun and experience on my side of things and maybe hearing your character in action may help you as well. As for the one for my character here. He is lamenting about a past situation that he could've stopped but didn't and it ultimately lead to his sister having to pay the price. So, the emotions here that I'm trying to convey are regret, anger, sadness, frustration, and love. That's what I typically try to aim for when I'm acting but if you have something more light-hearted I should be able to do that as well.

There's tons of VA material posted for free at r/ASMRScriptHaven. To use scripts there, basically the only requirement is proper crediting of the authors.

Here's a lil something from the first chapter of the 4th volume of my novel series. The character is female.

"The difference between FAULT and BLAME is the difference between TRUTH and REALITY. Just like truth, blame brings with itself the idea of perspective. Just like how a wrong truth from a wrong point of view can sometimes hurt more than a lie, the right lie from the right point of view can sometimes surpass reality. In a way, blame is quite similar. While one is to blame for their misfortune according to one's own truth and point of view, in reality, it can be someone else's fault, or it can be no one else's fault. It can be a random mishap or a destined flaw in the flow of life. In my case, for the story of this misfortune I'm about to tell, despite how I keep blaming myself while seeing my own truth, in reality, it was entirely my own fault. It's quite rare for truth and reality to be almost the same, and it's quite selfish for me to assume I am to blame for something that's my own fault, but either way, there will be no plot twist in the end of this story, because everything will tie back to me. This entire volume is done for nothing, and the story I'm about to tell has no value to it whatsoever."

Can you do breathing through a mask sound as well? :nerd:

ahh noooo. no need. I wasn't really asking for it. I was just trying to help you dont have to send anything

@Chocolate "breathing through a mask"? @Hayka well I typically make them and try to play different characters as a way to progress in a form of acting and having fun but also send as in I want to know if I'm playing "the" character or "your" well. If that makes sense. Of course, it may not be identical to what is portrayed in your head but still serves a purpose.

no I wasn't talking about that I just didn't wanna trouble you but umm...sure.
