As a way to reach others that like reading novels, I thought it'd be cool to have a thread in which to share a fragment you'd like with potential readers. Whether its from your new chapter or so, I feel it'd be nice to get a feel for the novel by seeing the narrative style.
In my case, my story chapters are divided like Chapter 1 pt 1, pt 2, pt 3... and so on, since my chapters don't fit within the episode format on Tapas x'D
An example:
Title: Flames of a Reverie
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, supernatural, psychological
No.Episodes: Currently 6 (Basically I'm at Chapter 1 pt 6. Updated today)
(Optional) Current Subs: 14
Updates majorly on weekends. Has a spanish version for anyone interested.
Summary: In a tranquil city, the Ikari brothers live their daily lives relying on one another. However, what will they do once a suspicious fog appears? Will they manage to carry on or will derangement tear apart what they once knew?
Random fragment from the story:
Minutes later, the boys gathered at the table as Daitaro tended to the pancakes in the pan. Now that they were eating, Masaru looked incredulously at Mitsuru, who was still playing.
"Mitsuru, if you keep going you'll have to eat cold pancakes."
"It doesn't matter."
"What do you mean it doesn't matter? They taste better freshly made" Daiki commented.
âI'll eat now, don't bother me" he replied. Daiki shrugged and proceeded to eat before the food got cold.
âHuh... Is that game so good that you won't put it down for a moment? I'm impressed that you even came to the market."
"I just did Daitaro a favor, Masaru" said Mitsuru "I'm almost done with this..."
Daitaro promptly walked over as he held the plate. Satisfied with himself that he was able to cook, he placed the remaining small tower of pancakes in the middle of the table before looking at Mitsuru.
"Are you playing that again?" asked Daitaro.
"Oh?" Mitsuru gave him a sideways glance as he felt a bit confused by the strange question.
"Daitaro, Mitsuru is always playing gamesâ Daiki said as he felt he was stating the obvious.
"I know that, but I mean that game, what was it called? Hmm..." Daitaro thought to himself.
"I just started it last night" said Mitsuru sounding very excited, his attitude really changed when someone showed interest in his hobbies. "It's called..."
"Death by gluttony" Daitaro and Mitsuru said at the same time.
At the unexpected response, Mitsuru turned his attention away from the game as he now looked very puzzled at his brother.
Masaru and Daiki continued eating without taking much notice of the exchange.
"Hm? Haha, I knew it" Daitaro said with a big grin. Mitsuru frowned slightly.
"How did you know....."
"Huh? Well you told me the name, otherwise how else would I know?" Daitaro looked confused, why did his brother look so thrown off? "I think you forgot."
"..." an awkward atmosphere enveloped them as neither of them said anything. Daitaro, not understanding why his brother viewed him with such conflict, felt a sudden chill.
"Are you okay?...â Masaru asked as he saw his brother trembling. What had happened? Why did Daitaro suddenly look bad?
"Yeah, though..." Daitaro clutched his forehead as he felt a painful twinge.
