The elderly rarely get any rep in media unless they're aged old mentors. Let's give em some love starting with my (spoiler warning) 76 year old immortal fairy. (Tbf, really old immortals do get MORE rep but whatever)

I’ve noticed this in my own writing as well. Though that might be a result of me starting to plan one of my stories back in middle school, when I considered 28-year-olds “old”. Now I have some immortal 300-year-olds but I feel like they don’t count, since they mostly keep their youth (they still act like old people though). So here’s some pictures of a side character from my historical romance project, that character being Mina (the FL)’s grandma:

She doesn’t show up that often but is an important person to Mina, and she also is the only one to actually warn Mina about the place she applied for a job at (everyone knows it’s suspicious, but no one else bothered telling Mina that going there would actually put her in danger).
Also the pictures are from this summer but they seem ancient to me, I will clearly redraw this lol

I think the art looks cute. if everyone can tell the place is suspicious why doesn't Mina know already without being warned tho?

Well, for one, she’s very sheltered, to the point where she had never left her home country or couldn’t tell if someone was being creepy. So naturally, she couldn’t tell either that the “job” she applied for was actually fake, and only realized it after her grandmother told her how suspicious the job description sounded. However, she took the risk anyway because her brother worked at the same location (a different job though, without spoiling anything), and has been sending her concerning letters for quite some time, so her plan was to come to that location and be there for him, except when she arrived, he was terrified instead of being joyful, which is how she realized her plan was going to fail and they both had to leave immediately…

yikes. rather than going she should have sent him money so he could leave, if she could tell he was scared lol

Unfortunately it wasn’t a situation where he could just leave… they would actually execute him if he did (which is kind of a spoiler already, lol)

Fr. Jose...

This was in 1962 when he was a boy...

This was during his prime...

And this was when he trained Eman...

I mean, Rikou is considered a mentor character. But she is also a sass queen and I love her

ahhh, too much wisdom. we need some crazy old people who can only give bad advice (no i'm kidding lol)

Those two wars... still going on to this day :disappointed:

By human standards Owen and Leander are senior citizens, each being in their mid 200's, but since common shapeshifters live to be 400+ years old they re really just middle aged. Dion, though, is over 500 years old (royal shapeshifters live to be 500-600) so he would be a senior citizen even by shapeshifter standards. He looks like a man in his late 70's.

Lucinda the Hecate is thousands of years old. Hecates are immortal and can change their appearance, but she prefers to look like a little old lady.

Ember The Dragon Tales has two elderly characters. Grumpy and The Magician. I'm sorry, it is but a novel, so I cannot show them to you. They must take form inside your own mind.
PS - Grumpy withholds a secret from June.

Grumpy:
The man had seen them coming. As they came near, he didn’t bother to look up from his work, an act normally considered rude in that place and time. “What’re you doing here with that beast, June?”
“Don’t be rude, sir. She’s not a beast. Beasts don’t talk.”
“Eh, so they don’t.”
“I’ve come to make proper introductions.”
At that unexpected announcement, the man looked at them at last. “Wha?”
“Mister Grayson, I’d like to introduce you to Miss Ember. Miss Ember, this is Mister Grayson. Everyone just calls him Grumpy. And Miss Ember is, as you know, sir, a dragon and the newest member of our village…

The Magician:
The old man’s little home was no more rich and no more poor than that of Agnes and Brand. Comfortable and serviceable, but not fancy. For a magician, it would have been simple to conjure luxuries. That he did not, augured well in Ember’s mind. A modest magician was usually one with wisdom. She noted that he used no magic in the preparation of their tea.
The fire was not up so she said, “May I assist?”
“Please yourself, My Lady.”
Ember motioned and the fireplace sprang to light

There's also an elderly main character in The Vampire and the History Professor. But I think promoting one novel should be enough for one day.

Here is mother earth. Well, mother tree, but whatever. she's hundreds of thousands of years old, the oldest living being on planet earth.
