I don't think it is a bad idea at all, as everyone is free to participate or not.
I find it much more difficult to find people to tell what's not pleasant than finding people to tell us what they like. It's understandable, and that's why it can be useful to have threads like this one.

Before even reading, I had a small problem. I don't see the point of right to left paneling if it's written in English. It feels gimmicky. And it's confusing for people who don't read manga, whilst most people reading manga in English will not have problems to read from left to right. Thus, I don't see the point.
On the comic now. I found the first episode very confusing. Now, one thing to keep in mind is that I'm not an action fan. It may be part of the issue. But I felt thrown into this fight without knowing much what's going on or where to look. It's not necessarily a bad thing to lose the reader a bit, but that was a bit long too. By comparison with episode 2 which I like much more, I think one of the problem is the poorer (sometimes nonexistent) backgrounds. I feel that if I had more things to look at other than the characters, I would be kept more interested. The forest background in episode 2 did that job well.
I'll throw also two things I liked: greyscale marker comics is a great choice imo, and I think it fits your story's style just right; and I really liked that mantis that was a great surprise!
