Oh your art style is nice! XD I'll check it out in a bit.

Here's one of my favorite scenes from my latest novel when Sandra returns to her hometown:

The old woman bristled and regarded Sandra with contempt. “Well, I just wanted to warn you that I don’t take kindly to any loud noises. I’m a light sleeper and it is absolutely horrible to be woken up in the middle of the night. So preferably no late night parties or trysts with boyfriends or-”

“You don’t need to worry about that,” Sandra cut in sharply as her fingers wrapped around the right key, having identified it by feeling the ridges along its edge. “I won’t be around much.”

She jammed the key into the lock and this time, it gave way easily. As she opened the gate, she turned to Dina and gave a sarcastic smile. “Oh and by the way, I’m single.”

And my favorite action scene in Dark Bytes!

The fence shook as an undead man flung himself onto it, his fingers reaching out to grab her. Shocked, she released her grip and the barbed wire bounced back into place. As she hurriedly backed away from the growling undead, a cut on her wrist caused her to hiss in pain.

With no time to lose, she unslung her rifle, aimed it and- click.

Fuck!

No ammunition. That last horde of undead must have spent all of it. The sound of gunshots in the distance caused her to jerk her head up. Sam…

A loud animalistic shriek followed and then, one last gunshot.

(Bear with me! Last one! :joy: )

She paused. Turning her head sideways, she spoke quietly, her words calculated to hurt.

“From here on, we walk our own paths for I could never walk the path of a coward.”

There are many scenes in my novel that haven't been written yet, but one of my favourites is in the most recent Patreon chapter.

Background: A fight had just ended and Pyke just killed 2 people without permission. A hobo saw everything so Pyke decides to bribe him

Scene:
Pyke heard clatter behind him so he dove into a role and swiftly grabbed a pair of knives. He dropped them when he noticed it was just the hobo he had passed earlier.

“I heard all the commotion so I thought I’d come and take a look. What happened, young fella?”

“Nothing,” Pyke reached into his pocket, took out his wallet and a thousand Sils from it. He handed it to the hobo and asked: “And what do you think happened?”

The hobo smiled and replied with a grin, “Nothing that I know of, good sir. I’m a heavy sleeper.” The hobo walked away, pocketing the money.

It's just a nice little exchange that I enjoyed coming up with and writing. I hope you'll enjoy it as well.

Have a good one!

My absolute favourite scene hasn't been released yet, but from what has I think it'll have to be this bit from the prologue :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking up, Heda’s blood froze. One of the balls of fire was sailing down right towards them with no hope of evasion.

‘Get behind me!’ Torbeon growled.

He planted his feet and moved his hands in a sharp arcane pattern, the air around them seeming to become charged with static as he drew on his well of power. With only scant seconds to spare he thrust his arms forwards as the infernal missile crashed into the street before them with a roar of flame, the scream of people, and the rumble of shattered masonry. A sheet of pink fire washed towards them and Heda could not look away, even as her girls flinched and screwed shut their eyes, as it parted around them with little more than a ripple of displaced air and a bloom of magic that formed a curved barrier of shimmering energy before them.

This was a side of her husband she knew about but had hardly ever seen. Torbeon Savonet, one of the greatest magi of his day. Also the gentlest husband and the most caring father could have ever hoped for her children.

As the brightness fled, she could now see a crater in the shattered stones of the road, and in that a beast that was even now uncurling. Larger than a carthorse with muscles that shifted and strained under a dark leathery hide, a bony head that seemed to be all skull, and lambent pricks of yellow light that burned in each deep socket. It brought itself to its feet, turned in their direction, and roared. It was a sound that humankind had once heard as they huddled in their caves, clutching stone weapons, and it was one that had become deeply-rooted in the species’ genetic memory as the most fearful thing.

Heda whimpered, unable to move.

OKay

I really think this was hard to do...

“Bear,” he pushed at her shoulder, in another direction, “Run!”

Rajini blinked in confusion. “A bear?” she asked and followed his look.

“Yes, run,” he hissed at her, his voice going to an order, holding a dangerous growl to it.

“Not unless you’re running with me,” she bit back, “You’re not going to stay here and fight a damn bear. You can’t win from a bear, not even together can we win from one,” she hissed at him.

Grabbing her arm, Ray pushed her away from their spot. “I said, run,” this time his voice giving off more power. Stubborn woman.

Rajini growled back at him, at the same time a loud roar was heard and loud thundering paw steps approached them.

Ray stared at the direction of the sound, grabbed her arm and started running in a different direction than where the bear was. They could outrun a bear. Fighting it was no option, running was the only thing they could do. Rajini dashed on her feet next to him.

Your novel scenes sounds super interesting and intriguing.
Love them all. I'll be checking out your novels.
Thank you that you'll check out my comic. I'm the writer of the comic and I collaborated with an amazing artist: Sphomont

I like your paneling a lot. The colors are beautiful and vibrant.
I like the dragon so much and how you color the dragon

I love the running scene. There's so much action that it's intrigued me a reader to read your story. I'll be checking out your novel in my free time.

Oooh, fave panels, huh?

I attempted this really cinematic angle for this absolutely devastating neg from Urien and I'm super happy with it. This is really the first panel where it's made clear; this guy isn't just kinda shitty, he's an awful, manipulative asshole.

Love how this pose came out. Rekki about to lay some serious smackdown. Very anime feeling, hahahaha! Rekki's jacket has come undone and becomes like a heroic cloak as she hangs in the air, wreathed in that fire-like aura.
OH! Also, fun thing nobody noticed! When Rekki is flaring her aura in this scene, her hair goes a bit redder, then it fades back to ginger. Little sneaky foreshadow there. :hohoho:

One of the fun things working in Clip Studio is you have all the manga tools in there. Subo's imagined version of Rekki is prettier and cooler than the real thing and is rendered in manga screentones.

Subo's social media feed features cameos from some fun comics friends' comics! Buuza, FIVE and The Princess Beast (all really good comics). They came up with INCREDIBLE social media names for their characters. I love making fake social media feeds, they're a really fun storytelling and world building device and you can get a lot of humour into them.

From the most recent update: Errr.... Rekki.... please.... calm down. You're enjoying this too much. :blank:

I like your favorite panels.
The colors are beautiful. Urien and Rekki looks really cool.
Love Rekki's outfit and her sword.
The manga screentones looks lovely as well.
I like how you make the fake social media feeds. It makes me even more intrigued to read your comic. I'll be checking out your comic.
