So we've got this first attempt at a webcomic in 2009.

Another attempt a couple years later on the original prologue for Life Less Ordinary.

A couple more years later when I decided to switch to traditional comics.

And just this year when I reached chapter two in Devour

What an interesting topic, really cool seeing everybody evolve!

It's impossible to find my real first comic, since I've been making strips for as long as I can remember. But I think I can find the first one I ever posted online....
2007, my first legit comic strip.

2008, my first comic with an actual narrative.

2009, finally starting to get the hang of visual storytelling.

2014, finally feel proud of my work. Children of the Grave

this thread is so much fun! and wow everyone improved so much, i'm seriously impressed!

and yet.. i've got the feeling that everyone's early work isn't as embarrassing as the stuff i fabricated. as a shounen-ai lusting teenager.

i mean, i did draw comics before that as well, but this was the first one i actually ... published online (MAJOR CRINGE)

(hysterical laughter)

and then, later on in the story:

this page is completely hilarious because it makes no sense at all. look at the dancing cats. i just can't.

I thought I'd posted in this thread since 1/2 of the reason I'm making a comic is to learn how to draw. I've got no training, experience and haven't studied any art. I started in Feb 2015 and my first page looked like this:

I'm always striving to get better, learn techniques and overall improve my work. It's one of the most enjoyable things I've done in my life.

When I first started drawing Brujagh, I really had no idea how to ink comics. I've never had experience doing it, aside from a basic comic I made way back in the day. It was garbage, to myself anyway.

Probably something I want to revisit someday, story-wise. Then we have our first Brujagh page.

I really wasn't sure how to make comics, so it was always three panels. I had ideas, but nothing really solid.

And recent:

I've kind of found out a system of getting things to work together. Learning the tools of the trade, working on pages every day. It's turned out pretty well.

I did have a godawful zelda mary sue comic I deleted forever but here's the second earliest comic I have from a series I gave up on in 2007:

And Welcome Back I worked on for about 4-5 years so it shows the rest of my improvement. I went for less shading and a more cartoony approach. It's finished for the most part but here's the first page made in 2011:

this was a later page from that comic, id say theres a HUGE leap of improvement but still a lot id change now

the last page i ever made for that comic. i dont really like my colouring and texturing, but some of the anatomy and clothing id be happy with today.

a page from a oneshot i did in my sketchbook during exams, playing with form and style - i really liked this, to be honest? my icons still from it.

and now, some recent pages:

not the most creative stuff ive done in the comic, form wise, but i they showcase a range of techniques and look nice

first project of mine is probably warrior of dreams? i tried doing it in 5th-6th grade and i kept changing the tools i used to make it so it's constantly flipping between just lineart and digital and markers/pencils

it was a big huge kingdom hearts ripoff with the NiGHTS characters and a few self inserts slapped onto it, made it 15 or 16 pages in?

then later in 9th grade or so i started a mario rpg/paper mario fancomic called Coulrophobia, made it 14 pages in before giving up and then rebooted it in 11th grade and gave up around the same page mark

then around the same time I tried going for a project I'd been making for 2 or so years called Roon. it was done in the Ava's Demon/Colorless single panel style and I made 24 or so of them before getting distracted.

It's something I wasn't ready for so I'll be saving it for after I finish my current comic.

my current project is SPIRE and it's gotten to 64 pages already, I started it in april and it's my longest running comic so far, it's the first one I've done with a REAL outline and script and I'm really enjoying writing it.
