Ok so I love having clean lineart on my comics but I also love sketchy style (not to forget my style seems to be better in sketchy style)
it seems like I'm ending up doing yet another comic because I love to torture myself so now I'm wondering if I should go with the sketchy style or clean lineart style
Comparison;
sketchy style (would be bit cleaner than this)

clean lineart

I know the feeling. What I like to do sometimes is leave little sketch marks here and there in my art. It's a hassle to clean it all up anyway, and the sketchiness doesn't really take away from the story. It also does make a difference too the type of mood you're going for. For a softer, calmer mood like in the second picture, it's good to have soft, clean lines. For harsher, more rushed scenes or images, sketchiness really contributes to it. Sketchiness is fun, because it shows the work you put into the art. I would just go with whatever you want to do. It's your comic! You have the creative license to do whatever you want with it!

You should go with what you're most comfortable doing and have more fun with.
My comic leans more towards sketchy and I personally prefer a middle ground, like a clean sketchy style (with some tones and shading, even just a bit). Since with sketchy you have to be careful, if its too sketchy somethings might not show properly or people might even mix up characters.

Also it would be a good idea to draw the exact same panel (or even a full experimental page) in the different styles to help you compare better.

Go with what goes with the genre and storyline.

What I do is change the style depending on what's happening, like in a dream sequence, or when something gets really serious, but that's more of a difference in style rather than a difference in the stage of art.

Also consider how long it takes.

Think about what would be more enjoyable for you to do as well as how you can manage your time. If you are doing more than one comic especially. Thats all that matters

((Art wise they are both good so don't worry. My eyes are drawn to the sketch style because i personally find thicker lines asthetically pleasing. But that doesn't stop the second pixture from also being nice))

Why choose one when you can have BOTH?!
Jokes aside, I'd go with a mix - use lineart but treat it as if you're doing a clean sketch. I've noticed that whenever I go w the sketchy approach I will gradually become better at it as I go. I like the sketchy one in your example, so I'd say go sketchy!
