Speech bubble for animals speaking but humans not understanding?

I can't remember ever seeing how a comic does this. How do I draw a speech bubble so readers know that the animal is talking but humans can't understand them. I want something different than thought bubbles.

There are a lot of ways you can do that idea! You can color the speech bubbles, like one blue and the other white. Or you can treat it like the animals are speaking in a different language ( "<< I am an animal talking. >>" vs "I am a human talking").

I think as long as you consistently use a specific bubble for the characters, the audience will know what belongs to who.

That sounds like a good idea, especially using special characters in the speech bubble. I plan to allow the human to understand the animal later on, which is why I was asking. When animal speaks to animal I want the bubbles to be regular, and different when humans hear them.

Also, I can't really do a lot with colors since it will look off from my comic's style. I do plan to change the style once in a while (if it doesn't confuse readers), so I might try some other ways in the future.

I guess you could also make equal segments on the bubble to differentiate between the two. So like erase a few pixels of the speech bubble line all around it, like this (— — — — — —) but in a circle/oval/etc

HA! In an oval. My bubbles are free drawn (and not very well either). Anyway, that's a good idea but I'm reserving dashed lines for whispers and things like that. Thanks though!

I see what you mean about the color! It might make it stand out a bit too much.

I'd use a different font or speech bubble. I tend to use unique bubbles for important characters.

I make them talk in sounds and put a translation below, I intend to do the same with different languages, and sometimes the reader isn't supposed to understand so I just don't put the translation. example The sound isn't inside a bubble yet, but more complex sound talking can be.

Well, I'd say, if it doesn't happen very often, or you don't mind doing this for evry bubble, you can spell the sound that the animal makes in the bubble. For example, if you have a dog , make it do somehting like this:

bark bark bark bark bark
bark____HELLO!___bark
bark bark bark bark bark

But if you do it often, the best thing you can do is use a font that is remniscent of the animal (for example it being furry or dog/cat/etc. themed) or obscured as a way to make it hard to understand. Alternatively, you can watermark it with the sound the animal makes.
