I love listening to music that has little words whenever I'm working or writing. It usually helps with taking me away from where I am.

Okay, I'm not particularly "positive" but I'll try: Some people want to see you fail because it validates their decision not to try, every day you don't give up you're proving them wrong.

I just got up and saw all the replies so far and you guys have made my day! \o/

So for today, I leave this:

You are the only you that will ever exist. And in that way, you are special, at least to me. \o/

@YangKoete I love Dragon Ball and all of its future descendants. You've won me over with this.

@lunaartemisasama Bob Marley! My idol and the light of my life.

@zigmenthotep It's okay and I appreciate the effort. That was a really powerful quote.

@rantscomics ANIMALS! ;^: They so cute!

@TimCaloweh You're right about that. Can't let it control us.

My favorite qoute because it is my favorite flower and i might get this as a tattoo one day:

Never be afraid to be a poppy in a feild full of daffodils.
-Michaela DePrince

Something that I find to be the coolest thing ever, is that we are capable of so much. As long as you find confidence in yourself and come to the realization that your own and others' doubts are only as powerful as you let them become, you can really do anything you want as long as it doesn't hurt you or others. Like honestly, so many people make excuses like, "oh, I'm not very good at this" or "I'm worried nobody will like it", but I think it's important to brush those aside. My rule right now in life is, "If you want to do something, do it". I find that thought to be very liberating.

Good morning on my corner of the world, guys! This thread has been going strong and I'm so happy to see everyone chipping in.

@YangKoete The Dragon Ball Abridged is probably one of the things that got me through high school.

@mileshonor That rule is wonderful and powerful in itself. And it is pretty liberating because there is so much power we have over ourselves, we don't realize when we relinquish it for someone else. Thank you for this and nice picture!

So my positive thing for today is, last night I got a message and I was told that my story "The Writing Paradox" was chosen to be a Staff Pick! \o/ I'm very surprised because The Writing Paradox was an act of desperation and my own irritation at my inability to "write anything good". I guess I did write something good and my impulsiveness paid off.

A quote to go along with this: "Take a chance, you never know what'll happen."

You remember those hardships in your life?
Don't worry. They'll pass, eventually.
One day, you'll come back from them stronger, mightier, someone better than before.

Realise how far you've come. Goals will always keep going forward but you should be happy with how much you've succeeded.

Almost the next day, but I decided to head back here a little early.

@Heliox14 It's good to see you, and you're right. Everything we go through makes us stronger in some way even if it is painful.

@Aura-Redwood I'm having to realize how far I've come thus far and how much farther I have to go. However, it's nice seeing how little things helped to pave the way.

You guys are really keeping the ball going and I'm proud of all of us. Looking back at this thread is actually very helpful when the doubt rolls in..

So in spirit of this, I have one thing to say:

Believe it! - Uzumaki Naruto

It's a brand new day and things are changing every minute. How are all of you?

G'morning guys! I have no idea why I'm awake at 2:51 AM, but I'm here.

My positive statement for the day is: Live loud and live proud.

Also, check out this thread1 that was recently posted up and invite a new person into the fold.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself-FDR
A guy paralyzed from the waist down.

We shall never surrender- Winston Churchill
A guy not afraid to let a paralyzed man drive. He also wasn't afraid of Nazis.

Good mornin, all! \o/

NaNowrimo is on it's way and life is dwindling down slowly in the wake of the holiday season. So my inspirational quote for you is: "Hey, I think you're doing great."

Aww, Bones, you sweetheart <3

Thanks for linking to my new thing; I'm glad to see you posting something like this to begin with!

For movies to watch for inspiration, it depends on genre. For my favorite genres, I like stuff like The Brothers Bloom, 500 Days of Summer, Yes Man, Summer Wars, Benny & Joon, etc. That covers a good portion of my most-liked and recommended stuff. I find them all to be quite meaningful and heartwarming. Do be careful of the ending in The Brothers Bloom, however. That one really gets you.

For music, I like to listen to whatever fits the mood I'm in or the one I'm trying to match. For writing an upbeat bubbly character, trying listening to music they might listen to as they dance their way down the street. Listen to the music you want to hear at the club scene you're writing, or maybe some classical for that fancy ball in the palace.

When it comes to getting inspiration to write, that's mostly going to come from reading books or stories that you like. Read your favorite authors and absorb them. Take notice of all the details and do your research on them. Read about the meaning of all the different symbols in those books, the meanings, the twists and why they worked so well.

When it comes to drawing, that's really a very similar approach to a writer, just with a different medium. A lot more practice is involved in this one, as no matter which style you prefer - freeform or from reference, realistic or abstract, cartoony or even anime - you have to practice getting it out of your head onto the page. On that note, the same goes for writers. There is nothing harder than training yourself to let go and just let it flow.

It's like we have been raised, trained, disciplined, or conditioned, to suppress this creative flow, most of us, and we have to unlearn passively blocking it. Almost as if we've been guided into building a dam around that flowing river and we have to really try to break that dam down brick by brick or layer by layer. It is too often that we undertake this endeavor alone, and I always encourage others to seek support in the form of online relationships, interpersonal work or casual relationships, or clubs or groups that share hobbies (book clubs, writing groups, chess club, etc).

I hope this gives you guys some ideas or some inspiration. If you're looking for inspiration quotes, look up quotes from salespeople and businesspeople. To me, they have some of the most inspiring things to say about building yourself and growing. In the right context, outside of growing only to be better at work, grow to be better at the things that you love. Always remember, pain can be a sign that you are growing, and that's not something you want to avoid. Pain is to be embraced, along with failure, embarrassment, and humility.

Embracing these four things will help you in many ways, but especially when it comes to writing a better story and living a better life. Pain, the pain of living that pairs with the joy and wonder of being alive, is something we must embrace so that we can become stronger in the mind. As artists, this is our domain, and we must become the masters of our domains. Failure is unavoidable. Learn from it and don't give up because of temporary emotions. Long-term goals have many short-term battles to fight. Fight each of them with the same vigor and determination. Showing our work to others or baring our intimate thoughts for others to see is something that can be difficult and embarrassing, but this is temporary - if you're worried about someone stealing your work, just mail it to yourself via the postal service so that you have proof before sending it out to anyone online. Humility, finally, is the key to taking criticism from those people that do see it. People will always give you their thoughts when you ask for them, and often times they will be filtered, sometimes less so. You won't always like it, as prepared as you may be, but being humble and understanding that even if you are published, even if you have made so much money, that you can always do better. It is understanding that as humans we are not perfect, and we never will be.

Much peace and love to the lot of you lovely folks~<3
