Stories in my head randomly

My dudes. This happens to me often. I know I'm not the only one. I'll be hanging out maybe having a conversation with one of my cats. And I'll get this idea. An idea that would make a pretty interesting story. I want to expand on it but i already have 2 others in the making in addition to my current comic. Do you just kinda let it go just kinda say...oh thats cool....oh well. Or maybe Write it down for later...? Where does it go!

I never write anything down, "A good story comes more than once" so if I've forgotten the first idea, it was nothing to keep in the first place ;D

So, yeah, pretty much all ideas I've got are stuck in my head, if I write them down, I'll either forget about or loose the papers and then forget about it xD

Hahaha yeah id lose the stuff i write down. Or it would get buried in my hard drive this one ive had in my head for a while.

In the past I used to foolish pursue those ideas that would hit me when I conjured them. However, not I just have a Word Doc and write down them. I put what genre they might be, whether they would be a long form comic or one-shot (even thought I have never written a one-shot) and a brief summary about it. I don't go beyond that and go on with my day. This way once I finish one of the comics I am working on I will have opinions when picking its successor.

I do my best to save all my random story ideas for later on even if i don't have the time to make it. I've actually considered just posting them online as part of a blog or something for other people to use (I mean if it's a good idea why let it go to waste?)
Or I'll try to integrate it into my comic as an experiment (which I'm doing with my current comic with a story arc, I greatly underestimated how long it would be though...)

i never write any script for my comic, everything comes in my head whenever i'm not doing anything. usually when i'm on a trip and there's nothing to do, i imagine the story in my head about what's going to happen next in my story. i can relate a bit

I store all my ideas, scripts, prose chapters etc. on a cloud account I can access from both my computer and my phone. If I get a new idea, I just grab my phone, add a new document and make a few notes. I might come back to it later and expand, or I might decide it's not worth keeping and delete it. I have way too many ideas to work on them all at once, but I like to keep them around, either to use for future projects, or to take particular elements and merge them with a different project.

I'll work on it for fun on the side, if I'm really into the idea! Sometimes my brain needs a break from the things it's working on, or something low pressure that I can play with without having to Develop Into A Story Right Now.
Runewriters was actually the idea I was playing with on the side (there was a different idea I intended to make my first comic out of), and it ended up being the story I wanted to focus on the most when the time came. Nothing says you have to go in the order you had the ideas!

So I don't dismiss any of my dumb ideas -- idk which are gonna be comics and which are just my brain needing some time to play, but both are important.

I'd bee sure to right it down. Or maybe find a a way to incorporate it into my current story.

Probably lost a ton work over the years because I might draw a character or doodle and that's it. Majority of my stories I never write down because they're either not formed, I'm still thinking about it or it's just something on a whim. Why not mix it together, to create the most unconventionally unique story you've ever made?

I have a Mac and an iPhone, so I just use Pages with iCloud enabled. You could easily do the same thing with Google Docs, Evernote, One Note, or any number of similar pieces of software, depending on your preference and operating systems.

Yeeessss! This happens all the time!! I'll usually think about it more, and if it's a viable story, I'll write it down in a Word doc at the next opportunity.

I have that too. I write down a short description at most, to remind myself just in what form the idea came to my mind if i get distracted with other things for a longer time. Just like i randomly jot down different ideas i wanna portray in my stories at one point, then go through them and select some.

What makes me a lil desperate is thinking of all those times i almost didn't create a certain character that i am now very attached to and the fact that if i drop an idea, i'll maybe miss out on something amazing later on XD

This way you don't forget your ideas and at the same time it can drift out of your mind so you can work on your current project.
