I don't have the thumbnail/storyboard for this page scanned - but it's literally two inches tall and covered in barely legible stick-figures. Here's the full-sized digital rough, clean sketch and finished page of page 22 from chapter 3 of Grassblades:
As you can see, even my clean sketches are full of scribbly bits.
I go even looser when I turn my party's weekly Dungeon World-adventures into sketch-comics summarizing the play sessions. There, I go straight from blobby rough sketch to "finished" lines (which themselves are looser and more sketchy than my Grassblades-lines):
There's no step in between there - I just go from stick-figure-like blobs straight to detailed lines. It sometimes comes out wonky, but overall it's faster, and it's the speed I'm after with these since I do them in my spare time.
