It's pretty obvious they weren't "with it" and probably launched too early with several other sites moving in on the market. At the same time, you're there now and you may as well let it shake out. it's only been a week.
The big "problem" that I see is you've got this bunch of people who, for a big part, are totally clueless about serialization and they were all expecting $$$$$$$$$ and $ to fall on them like a torrential jungle monsoo in the first couple of days. And when Amazon offered free tokens... omg, you'd think they were ripping their first born from their arms.
Add that to a bunch of "book" people planning on using the serials for "testing out" their next book, i.e. "rough draft" and you've got weirdness supreme.
@cherrystark and I have this one woman on our page (don't ask me why) with massive attitude (evidently she turned down a huge book deal years ago) it looks like she's had a decent career so why she's on the site of a couple of serialists from tapas is beyond me, but she can't wait to take potshots at us now and then and complains but never contributes.
Frankly, the envy./jealousy of the book people toward serialists and our attitudes of "long haul, baby, breathe" is tasteable, not to mention their fear. OMG... the fear, it practically rolls out of my screen.
We've pretty much stopped saying to give it time, and long haul and all the other things. We've said what we had to say, we've helped where we could and now we're stepping back. Every man for themselves.
Stick it out. We are of the firm belief most of us with serial background will prevail.
