Subs vs. Comments vs. Likes vs. Views

Hi everyone, My name's Mr. Monty and I do the comic, Lacrim and I just wanted to say something. When I first started, I was absolutely subscribe crazy (REFRESH, REFRESH, REFRESH). Whether they actually read my comic or not didn't matter too much as long as I had that extra subscriber. It was a bit like this with views and likes as well - I would never leave the stat page. And comments? Pffft Why would I care about them?

It's only now that I place the comments at the top of my priority, above subs, likes and views.
And this is why:
- people will tell you what you're doing wrong to help you out (and if not, ask them and then heed their advice!!!)
- we all love a bit of praise to boost us when we feel like our comic is going down hill
- it is an awesome opportunity to create a community and reach out to your subscribers in all sorts of ways
- responding to comments makes your subscribers feel a little loved.

Now look, I still at times can get a little uptight when my subscriber count is going down and all but when someone tells me why, it gives me a course of action to do something about it. I'm no veteran, but I have learnt a bit from the experience I've had.

I'm quite the same; comments tend to be the top of my priority list, followed by likes. I used to care a ton about subscribers, and would get completely devastated when I would notice the number go down. But I've since stopped worrying about the number of people coming to read my work, and care more about entertaining the people who I've managed to reach. I adore when people leave feedback for me, compliments and critiques alike, and getting into dialogue with people who care about my work makes my heart swell! I admit I do get a little deflated when something doesn't get a single comment, but I'm getting a lot better at not taking that kind of stuff personally. My story is in its really early stages, after all, and I've only recently even managed to solidify an art style haha!

Normally comments, but now that I'm so close to the 100 subs milestone, I would love new subscribers.

I love getting comments, coz that lets me know that people are genuinely interested in my comic. Subs are okay, and a means to garnering more reads/views but not quite necessary if you have a certain amount. Views are great, but dont always tell the story; however, getting a lot of them is a good thing.

I love comments too. Not really compliments, or criticism even (though I like those too). My favorite kinds of comments is when someone is really invested in the story and they say something relevant to the characters or plot. It makes my heart melt, like, "Aww! You really do care!"

Honestly, right now I would really want to get views because I want people to see my comic even though they don't subscribe at least they saw. Subscribers will come maybe but I want people to see my comic
