I'm not sure they're similar enough to warrant a merger. The rules are different after all. But I do want us to be sister series that get along. Would you be interested in hopping on the judges panel?

i dont have one that can fight Flare since it almost be like fighting fire with fire, plus i got to finish something else before i sign up

but i might do an arena for now

Maybe, I don't know. I kind of want to get the first match for the Fight Club done first (if it ever gets done) before jumping into something new.

I'll just chime in and say that I really like this idea. I especially love how you seem to be trying to let this be as democratic and flexible as possible, which to be honest I think has been somewhat of an issue with the Tapas Character Fight Club (TCFC).

I'd like to raise the question of how the results of events will be published. With TCFC, all the events are supposed to be published on one person's channel, which makes it so everyone kind of has to approve everything with this one person (who has been hard to get in touch with). Personally I suggest the Colosseum allows each working group to agree on which channel to publish their results on, but I'd love to hear your ideas :slight_smile:

Anyone involved can post the results on their channel. They'll also be posted in this thread.

Not to sound mean or anything but it better get done or we're going to run into some serious practical issues when it comes to publishing the second match -_-;

Thankfully, it seems we are pulling it together. So please stay tuned! :slight_smile:

After we finally wrap up the first Fight Club Exhibition Match, I might like to give this a shot.

@Chita Maybe do that Flare (Your character) VS Flare (My character) fight we entertained a while back?

Also, if we do that fight, I was thinking that the arena could be a forest with maybe the ruins of an old castle nearby? (Considering both of our character's fantasy origins?)

That sounds like it could work. Could you post your character in this thread and tell us a little about them, what they're from and what their powers are and all that? As for the arena idea it sounds great, but be sure to make it someplace from a character's world.

* cough * * cough * Not to rain on the parade or anything but what happened to wrapping up the match first? (Please don't make me do this I don't like starting conflicts ^-^;; )

Considering how long the Tapas fight club is taking and how little this is asking of creators (you don't have to do anything but volunteer your character. All else is gravy) I'm pretty sure his involvement in the Character Colosseum won't jeopardize his involvement in the Tapas fight club.

There is no reason he can't do both.

@OttoGruenwald I suppose that's true.

@aqua03 I don't really know how what / how much the others are relying on you for right now, but all I ask is that you be mindful of those on your team and not run off putting your efforts into other projects if it will hold the others up. Sorry if I sound a bit pushy, and I trust you will use your judgement. That's all.

It's all right. We've finally gotten our act together and pulled together a plan to get it done in a timely fashion. I have a part in the final push, but not that big of a thing to do. Plus, I'll probably wait until after I'm done with the fight club before focusing on this. (I'll just post my character here to help get some momentum and prep.)

I think I get it. This event is more of a forum game. After results are derived, the participating creators (those who submitted the fighter-characters) have an option to publish the match material as a Tapas novel or adapt it as a Tapas comic.

I like it, but I am not participating. At least, I will not be a fighter creator. I expect to be crazy-busy beginning tomorrow with NaNoWriMo. (Furthermore, my aliens are notorious for sending others to fight for them.) I am going to be an adult here and resist the temptation to claim one of those seats on the judges' bench.

I look forward to seeing the results.

After November you should look into joining the panel. I'd love to have you on! Also, feel free to submit an arena to the roster. I think the arena for the tentative Flare vs Flare match might be decided on rather than rolled for, but we can never have enough arenas (and only have one so far). Maybe the Tapas Fight Club arena complete with announcers?

Ok, im throwing my guy in

Comic: ROYAL

Energy Colour: Blue

Abilities:
can use his energy almost like fire
he can throw energy balls that explode when it hits something
can levitate a very small distance off the ground but this is too straining on his energy
he can make a bubble like shield

Weaknesses:
can easily be caught off guard
he tries to remember actual spells so he can use more elemental attacks, this usually ends badly on his end
breaking the shield can cause massive damage to him
has a tendency to forget common sense in stressful situations (but hes not completely stupid)
Heights (fear)
Water(fear and can't swim)

Extra Info
He is pretty clean mouthed, this is to counter his Brother who curses like a truck driver
He's left handed
he is pretty strategic
agile

preferred opponent: someone who can be a big challenge to him, i don't care if he loses, just don't kill him

ARENA: North Academy Arena

usually uses an abandoned city or ruins as the base structure (around as big as 2 football fields)

Created by the Tech side of the academy, this playing field can use simulation technology to build different types of grounds to battle on.

Opponents can run into the end of the simulation which is a glass wall, people can be shot out the arena since there is no glass dome, depending if the person has the proper tech ability, can hack into the system and change the field to their advantage

@OttoGruenwald

Are you entering Stardust or any of those other early era open domain characters? Because those cats are usually seriously overpowered.
