@Everyone I just realized how @OttoGruenwald's VS Series and ours can co-exist. His could function as the sort of "One-Minute Melee" To our "Death Battle" In which his are smaller scale text-based battle that come out in between the longer VS Match comics we do. We could also maybe even have some mini-fight clubs that are comic adaptations of his text battles. Heck, maybe the two can even share their rosters with each other to help expand both.

What does everyone else think of that idea?

I think that could just make more difficulties for those working on this. we should probably let them be separate projects

Yeah, maybe. I just like the idea of them working symbiotically together instead of as rival series. (Seeing as my OCs competed in the inaugural matches of both series.)

Some thoughts:

• Merging the rosters would be problematic for people who agreed / want to participate in one but not the other. They are very different projects with different levels of commitment involved.

• If someone wants to make a comic adaptation of a text battle, they can do that within the Colosseum series already anyway (I think). Even if they wanted to make it part of Fight Club, that can be handled on a case-by-case basis and doesn't warrant actually merging the two projects as a whole.

• Our two projects are different enough that they would have different audiences interested in them. Many people may be interested in the comics but not in the text stories, and vice versa. Putting them in the same series would likely just mean pushing content on readers that they're not interested in.

In conclusion, I see a lot of potential problems and not any real benefit to merging the projects.

As far as them working symbiotically instead of as rivals, I'd say they already do that. It's not like there's any real competition or animosity between the projects, and each one provides different opportunities for those interested. Just because they are separate doesn't mean they can't complement one another

it would cause problems for, like Toad said, people who want to join one and not the other and people who are in one but banned from the other one. so it is best to keep them separate

@Everyone Do we know who's going to be in the third match? I remember saying that I wanted Zephyr as the guest announcer for the fight, but I think that's as far as we got before deciding to focus on the fights at hand.

Cool! I would suggest my Flare as her opponent, but considering that Zephyr's the guest host and I just had the first match, I think I might let someone else have a go at it.

Now that I think about it, we have enough fighters that I would like to remove 402 from the roster. Jason Richards created the character. Although I am sure Jason would be cool with us using the character, that would create an extra layer of complication. Also I am not an artist, so I would not be able to contribute as much to the visual chores. I'll keep Isis and Shiva on the list as potential commentators or as coaches if we ever create that category.

@michaelson I was going to say that both of the fight series are really important exercises as they help solidify the participating Tapas series as part of a collective Tapas comic universe brand. Really successful indie brands such as Image comics have characters that interact and are seen as being in the same fictional “Universe”. I really think that exercises like this hugely help in establishing a recognisable product for Tapas and maybe it’s something that Tapas itself could officially be involved with in some capacity? Maybe even an app game where characters from Tapas comics fight each other and you can keep downloading new content: fighters, arenas etc. I think that it would also hugely help for legitimacy if Tapas superstars like @LordVincent were to be involved also with some of their characters. Another aspect of branding, and Tapas may well already be onto this, may be to release a tapas TPB which gives everyone a taste of lots of the series on here, maybe broken down by genre? Fiction could be included too? Am sure we could give Flight a run for its money under the right circumstances!

not really, you can't copyright an idea or concept. there are a lot of games that have pulled off a smash bros like fighter out, Playstation Allstars, Cartoon Network's PTE. its just you cant imitate Smash to the "T".

TBH i really wanna have some kinda fighter with our characters going against eachother
