I know what you mean. Being accepted could change the next 3-6 months of my life for the better.

I have two questions: Do I have to move to California if I want to do this? And I'm more of a writer than an an artist. Can I still apply if my ideas are good?

@cronasonlyfriend They did say they're hoping to start by the end of September, so winners should hear back in the next few weeks!

@DesignRose88 You are not required to move to California to do this. They are hoping to do a future Incubator Program just for writers in the future, but this one is strictly for artists. And the deadline has passed so you can no longer apply to this one. Good luck in the future ones though!

I was going off MY TIME which was CT (central time). So when I submitted mine it was before 12:00 AM CST meaning I should be good? I thought I was until i read the forums on the same day too late after turning mine in.
If I wanted to be considered, I should've turned it in by 10:00 PM. They should've mentioned time zone. My pitch wont be considered anymore because it's off by an hour. It makes a difference if they stated what time zone. so TECHNICALLY mine wont be counted because of the time difference. Yes they stated what day but did they mention time zone? No.

We are not so heartless as to not consider "late" submissions sent in a few hours late under the assumption of local time zone if we received any (which we didn't, by the way. Central Time is actually 2 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time.)

That being said, it's true we should've specified in the original post and will keep that in mind in the future!

Gabs laying down that wisdom. XD
Sent in my pitch as well. Any chance of a date in regards to when we can expect some sort of reply?. Thanks if anything.

Haha looking back I realize I might've sounded a little harsh X: But in reality it's because I was replying while in transit (sorry @Leohma!!)

Though I don't know if it'd be possible to reply to everyone, we are aiming to make an announcement within the next week or so! We really got a ton of fantastic submissions so we'll have to choose carefully

*EDIT: spelling

it's cool man, It just freaked me out cz i worked so hard on it >_<

I don't mean to be "harsh" but rather just "to the point" kinda person.

; _ ; I'm so sad I barely found out about this now... Serves me right for not being active.

Yeah I hear that... At this point I've almost given up hope of getting in, whether or not I get accepted will ultimately decide a very large part of my life at current time...

I was working on a comic that I have since lost the inspiration to finish drawing. I turned it into a novel that I would be interested in submitting and having redrawn but I was wondering how much say would I get in which artist draws it and how they do so.
Are we randomly matched according to tapas? Does the artist pick which novel they want to draw? Does the writer pick which artist? How much liberty does the artist get in drawing it out?

@dairyfiend Submissions are closed at this point, but I don't think they were looking for stories without artists attached this time around. It seemed like the program was mainly for artists with their own stories or artists interested in adapting novels that had already been selected.

Will the announcement be public? Or will it just be contact between thise who are chosen and tapas?

We are in the process of contacting creators chosen for this round!

As for the public announcement -- we are working on a large announcement both on-site and outside Tapas. I'm not certain what date that will be; of course we want to announce as soon as possible, but this depends on how quickly we can confirm candidates.

When can those of us who submitted who never got a email exhale? Also in my rush to meet the deadline at the time, I sort of overlooked the part about talking about myself and links to my social media, was that part super important?

I also have a question about if we don't get an email, if I were to ask what it is about my comic pitch that wasn't necessarily liked, could I get feedback on it?

@MidZM I am not a staff member, but I would guess that the answer is "no." Mainly because I tried to ask for feedback in the past and didn't get it, and the other reason being that there are simply too many submissions for that to be reasonable. Have pity on the poor staff members, haha. They are probably DROWNING in work right now.

I'd like to ask you what the exact meaning is. If someone not being contacted for now, is he rejected from the submission? Or he just needs to wait a little longer?
