The minimum word count is 5000 words divided into 10 or more chapters of 500 words or more each. A short novel is frequently defined as 50,000 words, so 5000 is possibly shorter than you think.

I don't know what you tried, but this is how I update tags.

select the specific chapter to edit
add a tag at the bottom of the page
Save the chapter at the top of the page

I had this problem too, I think it was because I was using a comma and not hitting Enter after I wrote each tag.

Try pasting or writing in the tag again and hit Enter. If it shows up in a blue box below the input field, click Save. Did it stay after that?

Hello everyone! Here is my entry for the FirstWritersCamp!

Wholly Broken :: Chapter 1- Seemingly Perfect | Tapas

Synopsis-

Zane used to have it all. A supportive family, a good career, a pretty fiancée. That is, until he was hit one day by an oncoming car. Six months later, Zane wakes up from his coma, paralyzed from the waist down. Losing everything he once thought dear, his soul begins to spiral downward into depression and disarray.

However, Zane's life is given new meaning when he is aided by a girl who is both mute and partially deaf. Totally unafraid of the world, she faces not only scoffers, but also all of life's challenges head on. Drawn to her strength and somewhat unusual view of the world, Zane may find that there's still so much left to live for.

Does the writer have to be an adult? What if an adult just submits it?

You do have to be at least 18 years old to participate in the contest portion of Writers Camp, due to the fact that we are unable to sign contracts with anyone under 18, and so that winner would not be able to win a publishing contract. Having someone else who is older submit on your behalf does not solve that issue, unfortunately. If you are going to be 18 by the time the contest wraps up on April 19th, feel free to submit to the contest, but if it's going to be a few months or years, we're planning on putting together many more Writers Camps that you'll be able to participate in. And, regardless of age, please take advantage of the community aspects of the contest. The novelists here on the forums are great and happy to give out critiques, support, and advice, and many Tapas readers are also happy to do the same.

The post that was sent to everyone on the main site has a portion that says this: "Over the next 30 days, we’ll be working on highlighting Writers Camp participants and their stories in a variety of ways, and we look forward to hearing more from creators about the contest and what they’re working on."

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how Tapas will highlight the participants? It's a really good idea on tapas' behalf so I wanted to know. Plus, it's more exciting for authors to know how they will get more of an audience c:

Here's my entry! I'm so glad this contest came along, I really think it's the only thing that could've forced my hand to finally finish and share this thing. To that end, I will be forever grateful to Tapas for hosting it regardless of how much I manage to complete. I finally got my start!!!

Is it one entry per tapas account? Our account consists of content by two writers, and I was wondering if both can publish and submit to contest using a shared account? Thanks. PS They have different emails so if allowed, they'll independently email their entries using their own emails.
