@violin What @turtleme said is correct. Completed stories are a much safer bet for us, as we know readers won't be left hanging if something comes up and the author isn't able to finish or be consistent about updates. However, we do take incomplete stories occasionally, particularly when the author …
Yup, what @raekitano said! You can keep publishing after August 5th so long as you don't win the contest. If you do win, we ask that you wait to publish the rest of the episodes so that readers can have something new to check out once the series transitions to Premium.
Wanted to post a reminder to everyone entering the Writers Camp contest that if you don't post your work on Tapas and don't provide us with a link to the series on Tapas, it doesn't qualify per the Writers Camp contest rules! We are unable to judge your work if you don't follow this rule. Submitting…
@Peni It will be featured soon! There are a lot of promotions currently on the front page, so there isn't a whole lot of space at the moment, but once things get a little less busy, we'll get it up there.
24 hours after your submission! I just went back and looked and it seems there were a handful of people I missed when I went through the list this morning, so your book should be in the collection now! Sorry about that.
Now that we've got submissions rolling in, we were able to get the July Writers Camp collection started! You can check it out here. It's also available in the Collections tab on the Discover page in the app. Some notes about this collection: Series have to be added to this collection manually by …
It shouldn't be an issue so long as we have the correct link and title for your story, so you're all good!
We do have plans to do a Writers Camp specific to existing works someday, but it's going to require a total revamp of the rules and discussion about how to let Tapas readers have a say (if that's even possible in this context with the metrics we have available to us). We're going to do it, but it ta…
Also, to clarify, so long as you published your novel on or after the first minute of July 9th PST, you should be totally fine! Just make sure you send us a link. That's how we'll know to add your work to the July Writers Camp collection.
Hi y'all! We all just got into the office a little bit ago, so bear with us! The official announcement is going to be up in the Newsfeed later today. Keep an eye out for it! (I'll probably post a link here as well unless one of you beats me to it!) That post will also include a link to a Formstack…
@TheNiceGuys You can write your story to be broken up into seasons! Your story doesn't have to be finished for you to win Writers Camp, but I will note that it's helpful for you, your readers, and us as judges if it seems clear that you know where you're going with the story and seem to have a plan …
@diestreve319 You can definitely add it! We didn't see many short story collections in the last batch of Writers Camp entries, but so long as you're meeting the other requirements and your publishing them in one collection rather than as several individual stories, you're fine. @violin You should …
That's totally fine! Just make sure that you're not posting your story until the submission date opens on July 9th.
Not necessarily! We have both exclusive and non-exclusive contracts. It's up to you to decide what you're most comfortable with and what you want for your novel. There are benefits to both options.
@YaoiParadise Our community guidelines state that any sexual content must be plot-relevant. If the bondage scenes you include are relevant to the plot and don't cross any of the other lines in our content guidelines (for example, "content that is predominantly sexual in nature, or intended primarily…
@Peni @LortiaMJB You can have a novel set in the same world as something you've already written, so long as it's a different story. @diestreve319 You'll put it in your series tags when you publish your novel on July 9th. Make sure you're not publishing the novel you plan to submit before July 9th…
@djwaglmuffin It should be an entirely new work. We are currently planning on doing a lot more Writers Camps in the future, and we do have plans for some of those Camps to allow submissions of older works. But for this round of Writers Camp, you can refer to the guidelines posted in the newsfeed: …
The second Tapas Writers Camp is coming in just a few weeks (submissions begin July 9th!). If you have any questions about the rules or anything else Writers Camp-related and need answers from a staff member, please ask them here!
Yeah, this is a known bug that the dev team has been working on. We don't currently have a solution for it at the moment other than deleting the series and making it again until it actually takes you to the right series creation page (or catching it early when you realize you're on the series creati…
We're planning on running Writers Camp again in the next couple months.
Hi there! So, Tapas' novels-to-comics project is something we offer mainly to Premium novelists, where we work with them to adapt their novel into a Premium comic. It's a great way to introduce the story to a new audience and also get more people introduced to the novel itself. Feel free to email…
@JackRasputen @LordSeriphus We are only planning on including the two winners in the announcement, but the First Writers Camp collection link will still be active, so you'll be able to see all the entries in one place at any time.
The submission period officially closed last night! Thank you so much for all of your participation. Well over 100 of you submitted your stories, which is absolutely amazing. Our first Writers Camp couldn't have been a success without all of you. I know you all worked really hard, and I appreciate h…
You can continue writing your series! However, we will only be counting the series that have completed the submission requirements by midnight on April 19th, so make sure you meet the minimum requirements before then!
Yup, we'll be following Pacific Standard Time! If you're in a different time zone, make sure to take that into consideration!
@violin Feel free to make edits before the 19th! We are going to be spending the rest of April reviewing all the submissions that met the requirements, so make sure any edits you have are in by the end of Thursday. @JackRasputen We're hoping to announce both of the winners on May 1st! We do have s…
Just wanted to remind everyone that the contest will be closing on Thursday, April 19th at midnight PST! If you would like to be entered into the contest, please make sure to email a link to your story to writingcontest@tapasmedia.co!
We don't have a specific date set, but at the moment we're planning on doing another Writers Camp before the end of this summer!
@badriahbegum As @silverraven0, @onyefrankie, and @raekitano mentioned, we don't allow fanfiction, so your story will not be included in the contest collection.
@silverraven0 We use Pacific Standard Time, so the contest will end at midnight PST on April 19th. @robinlayneauthor You can subscribe to as many works involved in the contest as you'd like! We aren't going to discount subscribers for one series just because they're subscribed to another. The…
