aw i was interested but i dont think i'll be allowed since my comic isn't family-friendly
I hope everyone else has fun tho and lol merry Christmas

this is very cool!
1. I love 14 but I don't really care, my Lucifer is very adaptable hahaha
2. Lucifer would be very fun (I can change it to Michael as he's an angel, if you want, but I think Lucifer has more presence)

I was about to toss my hat in the ring until I saw this:

While my comic isn't exactly explicit in language or violence I wouldn't exactly describe it as "family friendly" at its core so hey, good luck to the rest of you! :sweat_02:

Bumping this thread (hope that's okay .-.)

As of this comment, 8 spots are still available.

Uhmm, yeah, hi. I wondered why some of us didn't get an answer while you were replying to others, and now seeing your last post saying that 8 spots are still available while some of us are unanswered, it's kinda a d**k move, tbh.

I mean, what you do with your collaboration is your business, and I shouldn't complain about what your team decides on who will be involved with it, but it's kind of rude to ignore others without giving a simple answer like "Sorry but no." or "I apologize, but we can't take your request."

Anyways, I hope you'll have a good day (or night), and I wish everyone who joined lots of fun.

Yeah, I kind of agree. It would be nice to not just leave people on hold like that. Because I and many others have been waiting for a response on whether or not we can join or not in all honesty and it's kind of annoying to get radio silence regarding our requests for days on end when you answer other people near immediately.

My apologies, if I have not responded back to you. Unfortunately I have not chosen you for various reasons, most of which I have listed on my post. I have also been trying to figure out what criteria I should specifically have for this for which I have not listed yet. No doubt that art quality is also something that I consider, but again that is something subjective and is a bit hard for me to list as to not discourage other people that may (subjectively) have appropriate quality although they themselves may not think that and end up not applying at all.

I do really appreciate everyone for trying, and all your enthusiasm. I am personally sorry to those that were waiting on a response from me.

That's okay. Christmas is still months away. I'm sure you'll find a time to sort everyone out and come up with a plan that we can all agree on.

Yup, I know I have ways to go with my art. You don't have to feel bad about it. Cheer up big brother/sister, whichever it is.

10 days later

I’d like to apply for No: 6
And I’m thinking about participating with my OC Seth (like I did with @Legendofgenii ‘s Template)

Here’s my comic:

And its Lightnovel:

And my Discord ID: Sethstiel#8037

Sorry, for my late reply to these new posts. I believe I gave you my answer on discord. But, you still have a nice comic. I've read a couple episodes already, it is cool ^^.

You also have a really cool comic, but why must you have that one M rated episode
If I cannot find the last two people soon ish then I maaaay consider you and @Sethstiel
but try not to count on it, since I've specifically indicated that any collaborator must have family friendly content. I will reach out to you guys if that is the case.

Excuse me, but I'm wondering why you decided to set the bar for art quality for what is supposed to be just a fun collab for a bunch of artists so high it seems? Like, I can understand why you'd want only family friendly comics that aren't on hiatus, and maybe having more professional art would make sense if this was going to be published in a zine or something you'd have to pay for, but for a fun free collab, you seemingly setting the bar for entry so unreasonably high and exclusive doesn't really seem very fair to many artists or like a particularly good idea in the long run if that makes sense.

I'm sorry to raise a fuss, but that's been something that's been on my mind for quite a while ever since we got your answer and I'm curious as to why the reason that is.

Before I answer this, I want to point out that even though I had some clear guidelines, you yourself did not
1. Let me know which position you wanted and
2. Provide me a direct link to your comic (you sent me your creator page which has various comics)
The discord part is understandable.
Yes, I still accepted some people even when they did not follow these, but they were also stronger contenders (and it was generally easier to figure out which was the comic they wanted to use)

Let me be clear, the bar that I have set is not "high". Every single participant I have accepted are part of the Tapas community comics. None are Tapas Originals, THOSE comics have an objectively high standard. We at Tapiyoka Studios have a high standard for ourselves and to keep that integrity we would like our collaborators to be of a similar standards, ideals, and goals. We want to influence others and also be influenced by those that are ambitious. Yes, this is a fun little thing for those that are a part of it, but it is also a good way to network. If you check all of the current participants, there are actually quite a diverse difference in art skill level, subscriber count, comics episode count, etc, etc. We do try to make it as open as possible (keeping all these things in mind).

If I intended to make an event for EVERYONE and ANYONE, then I would have done that from the start. My event is not unreasonable, and by nature because there is a picking process, yes to some degree you could call it "exclusive", I will not deny that. I am not trying to hide any dark motives, I just don't think it is necessary for me to point these things out. People can read the posts, people can analyse the situation and figure these things out.

To add on top of everything, and to give you a personal answer, I have mentioned that we will be promoting all of these comics in one of our episodes. So yes, to an extent that is a personal choice that we wish to promote arguably nice comics in the name of our brand. I respect all applicants and take my time out to go through every comic to decide. In return you should also respect our decisions.
