I began writing Ravenswood around March this year after spending some time to get the characters and world together. I’m a pantser so I have to put pen to paper for the story to actually come.
I was writing a webnovel when the idea for this story came along, I’m a big fan of medieval stories and I also love isekai; I was reading lord of the mysteries which deals with transmigration themes, and then I thought about putting a lord of the mysteries kind of plot into a game of thrones type of world.
Fun fact about the series? Hmmm... the world is so vast even I don’t know everything yet, but I can guarantee that it’s beautiful.

My story has been through lots of rewrites, and the time I decided to write a story based on me and my partner's OCs dates way back to 2019.
Since my story is basically a slice-of-life slow romance, the idea stemmed from my relationship with my partner, albeit completely written differently so it wouldn't feel like too much of a projection story, and since it went through lots of rewrites, the current version of the story is the most polished version I've wrote yet.
Not much fun facts but I do like a wholesome story with a little bit of drama. Since my story is about writing novels and drawing illustrations, the characters have a backstory that drives them to pursue such careers. While exploring the mindset of someone who has emotional struggles and personal problems as they cope using their hobbies.

Lord here we go lol.

I started Nocturne 21 when I was an angsty high school freshmen almost 20 years ago.
Initially I got the idea from just having a really bad day at school and home and I grabbed a crappy composition notebook and just started scribbling the first story that came to mind. It was really awful. Like, a crappy version of all my favorite anime at the time; yu yu hakusho, rurouni kenshin, DBZ, etc.
Hm…some fun facts.
-The inciting spark for Nocturne’s creation was because I wanted to buy a Rurouni kenshin dvd but I left my money at home. I asked my dad to lend me the money and he said he only would lend it to me if I climbed a mountain with him. I can’t remember if I took his deal or not, but I was really mad because I had the money at home and he couldn’t just lend me some for like an hour.
-Another fun fact is that in the 4th version of Nocturne, Kai didn’t have the name Kai. Since he couldn’t remember his name, the Shimizus just called him something different everyday. Made for some fun gags, but was a little too silly.
-Nocturne 21 was originally called “Watashi no ame” since I was obsessed with Japan and the story had a heavy theme around rain.
-Kai didn’t have amnesia the first 2 iterations
-Some of the names were changed like Yoshiko used to be Yoshiro, but that’s traditionally a male name and past me didn’t do any research on anything.
-My very first original comic I made when I was 11 and I have plans to revive that. That universe overlaps with Nocturne and two characters have already made cameos.

I first came up with my story idea in my 10th-grade year of high school, so I was about 15 years old at the time.
I was really into Lollipop Chainsaw and Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and I wanted to create something that had the same energy.
Stacy’s catchphrase is “groovy”, but it's not a reference to Ash Williams. I had never seen any of the Evil Dead movies until recently and I was kinda surprised to find out that was also his thing.

This is gonna be a long one!

1-When did you first create your story(s)?

This iteration of my comic was created in 2021. It's actually an amalgamation of various different ideas I had years ago that I thought would work well together.

2-What gave you the idea for it / them?

Nothing in particular, I just wanted to make a story that contains a combination of elements that I though would never be made. So I made it myself. Here are the basic things I wanted to make:

a- I wanted it to have a power system inspired by the Stands of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.(If you know what they are, my power system is basically the same, with unique characteristics obviously)

b- I wanted it to happen in my country Argentina. Especially because my story is originally in Spanish, so I wanted a fantasy story with characters that speak argentinian spanish.

c- The main character needed a 'underpowered' ability. Basically, his power isn't easy to use. I wanted him to have a power with limits and restrictions because I prefer when characters win by outsmarting their opponent.

d- In general I wanted to keep the power level on Street Level. In this particular story I didn't want characters that can just destroy entire buildings with ease.

3-What are some fun facts about your story(s)?

Just like my inspiration of JoJo's, the main characters have musical references, specifically they have nicknames that reference Argentinian Music. In the English version they are all translated.
Ex: The main character is referred as the "Arriero" which is a reference to the song 'El arriero va' by Atahualpa Yupanqui. A very iconic Argentinian folk song.

I wrote a big novel intended to be a series a few years back; however, I never quite captured the essence of what I was trying to portray. I didn't feel as if I knew of enough about things I wanted to say. I also experienced major burn out and a lack of creativity. So, I kind of buckled down last year and focused on things I like, such as video game stories, manga, anime, tv shows, etc. (also real life ofc). To be more observant and really focus on what makes stories or moments compelling or entertaining. Plus, I was in Graduate School continuing my English / Writing degree, so that helped too. So, within a month or so I created my novel, CLAN ROYALE.
The idea came from a feeling I've had for a long time. As a kid you see the world's magic, possibilities, imagination, etc. Even as an adult you can still see imaginative things but it's grounded by reality and logic. So, I've always wanted to draw/write/or act in scenarios or stories where you cannot experience IRL. In short, I basically imagined and wrote about that fantastical life, think, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Genshin Impact, etc. So, Clan Royale(series) was the first steps into creating a new magical world that invites people in to come be along for the adventure.
Ignoring the controversy around it, I will give 2 examples, if people are familiar such as Harry Potter, for one. I'm not entirely crazy about the story itself; however, I always liked how it created this community that people could join in (the houses) be a part of create their cosplay, fan fiction, art, etc. Similar can be said about the more recent Genshin Impact (for you gamers) As an artist, I noticed how people enjoy the characters, story, and the fantastical elements in that world and try creating their own character, element, or lore. So, this inspired me to craft my own "CLAN ROYALE" as elemental clans on the brink of destruction and war when an outsider falls onto their world and shakes things up. So, it's like, I wanted the "party/friends" of Inuyasha, the Magical Girl/Boy moment of Sailor Moon, and the Magical Moments/Lore of Genshin to craft someone who escapes their boring post-apocalyptic world and finds amazement in the magical world as they discover who they are.

I want to query this Novel to agents, I am currently trying and no luck so far. However, to gather attention/audience, I'm slowly making it into a webcomic for tapas, under STARFALL. It moves a little slower than the novel but it's got a lot more going on and details that weren't said in the actual novel.

Genre: Fantasy / Action Adventure / Magical Quest / Magical Boy/Girl / LGBTQ+
Synopsis: Evalieh defies his society, gets thrown out, and lands on a magical island full of clans on the brink of destruction as they take him in to solve their problems from the evil Shamans. Reluctant to do so, Evalieh goes along with this strange friendly clans because the island has cursed him to only live for two days, unless he binds with the magic of the island and helps out. So, he goes on a quest to gather 6 tears to restore the island and secure his path home.

I started writing scripts for it when I was 13.

What gave you the idea for it / them?

I was inspired by a stick figure fighting animation to make a series about stick figures fighting and the idea fully evolved into something else.

What are some fun facts about your story(s)?

The main character was the last one I thought of in the process, and before there was him, his team niche was filled by a character named cody, who I envisioned as a child with his body type, and thought of nothing else.

1. When did you first create your story(s)?
Well this is tough to say. Many of the plot ideas have been rattling around in my head, unconnected for years and years. Properly putting them together in their current form about a year ago.

2. What gave you the idea for it / them?
Most of the story is inspired by fantasy novels and rpgs. A little bit of it is inspired by history, but a very loose inspiration. A major plotline involves a struggle between supporters of monarchy and revolutionaries trying to overthrow them. I did take a look at some European history to get ideas about this.

3. What are some fun facts about your story(s)?
The comic is made entirely of 3D renders. I enjoy doing 3d modelling, but for awhile I wasn't sure what would be a good way to use that for storytelling. I tried video games and animation but those are extremely time consuming. A comic still take a lot of time, but its a lot faster to just render out some images for the panels, compared to make fully polished animation of the same events.

I first created my main two characters in Feb 2018, and they've always been waiting on the shelf for me to use them in my future dream comic. Now it's finally happening! Even though I've gone through a couple of weak versions of the story over the years, I started the actual story in Jan 2022 (and started posting pages just a few weeks ago!)
I already love goblins thanks to WoW and the WoW goblin community, so it was natural to have most of my main characters be goblins (but of course in my own universe). I made the characters when I was just starting to get better from a really dark couple of years, and they kind of led the way into my renewed love of a foresty medieval aesthetic. I just needed to figure out a way to have them explore their world ^^
I've finished one other big comic at 90 pages long, and I actually did probably almost half of that one at the same time as starting Goblin Rise. I've been moving at a snail's pace for most of the time because I knew that if I took a break with my other comic, I'd never get it done--so I did my best to work at both along with my irl job that keeps me busy. Soon though I'll be switching workplaces and I should have more time to work, especially now that it's my only comic to worry about!

I'm super excited to finally share the characters, world, and story with anyone who might enjoy it! It's only just starting--the full prologue is out as of today, and Chapter 1 starts next week. But this one is going to be WAY longer and WAY more involved than my first practice comic. Here's the quick synopsis if anyone is interested, and thank you for this thread!!

A realm of magic and secrets waits to be discovered, and a kingdom of goblins is in need of help. Young mage Diedrick is called to action and launches into a vast world they've never seen, determined to find an answer.

1.) I first created the concept art for my story around a year ago. This concept art was first for the main character but he was drawn drastically different than the final design. Overall I took my time with the concept art, and I ended up drawing all sorts of things. I drew towns, creatures, characters, etc. I started actually bringing that concept to life in the end of June last year where I took all my ideas in mind and started the comic.

2.) I started it because I had a dream about the idea for it. I then came up with the name, and got to work. Although, once the final ideas started to take shape, I wanted to bring this particular story to life because it feels alive. It has meaning, a message, and feels like a modern day myth to me. So once that notion took shape, more ideas came to me.

3.) A fun fact is, the idea for the comic itself originally was about a crusader searching for a princess who kept running away from him. I drew the main character as a statue who came to life and he only knew he was searching for said princess. This couldn't be farther from the story now lol, but I still use certain ideas from the concept art just repurposed.

I published the first episode around the start of January of 2020.
I kinda forgot where I drew the inspiration for my story. It just kinda was a combination of things I was into at the time (and still am).
It used to be a different aspect ratio to fit with Webtoons' limited aspect ratio rule but at some point I ditched Webtoons and went with something I was more comfortable with.

Hybrid: Humanity

Genre: Fantasy / Action

Description: A story about a half-demon teenage girl lost in a world where everyone is out to get her.

Back in the 1800s, demons invaded Earth and took a sum of their land. Of course, it starts a new era with pre-established pools of magic on both sides at war. Along with that many discoveries are made from the burning bridge between the realms.

When did you first create your story(s)?
I started with short stories in highschool so back in the 90s. I did print them off and still have them on a floppy disk. My current manga will have some excepts from those later on.
I just started the actual manga online back in 2020 so I still have along way to go for improving skill and how to execute the story visually.

I have vivid detailed dreams that will continue. Its been going on for decades. So I just adapt them to a written story. Its kinda like watching a movie.

Because its been so long, it feels like the characters have evolved as a whole over time. Not knowing much about backstory and personality, but then its as if they become someone youve known for a long time. Kinda wierd.

1.) I started thinking about dimensional detective last year while daydreaming then it grew in my head so I thought let me make this into a actually story.
2.) There was an incident in my country where a group of teens just died in a bar due to unknown reasons. For some reason that incident sparked this story and my brain just ran with it
3.) The story of dimensional detective takes place in a futuristic cyberpunk world then it shifts to different dimensions due to a phenomenon that occurs in the story. The main character is a technological genius, he can almost overcome anything with the tech he creates.

1. When did you first create your story?
Well, I created the first draft of my one and only novel in April 2022
The first two chapters didn't change much since then, but the rest? Ooh boy, It got some serious do-over.

It was one of those spontaneous questions about what kind of superpower you would want to get, for some reason I said shadow manipulation, and so five years filled with many weird dreams later - here we are.

The Idea for the world of Void Merchant was brewing in my head for a long time,
at one time it was even a DnD campaign in the making, but then a great enemy struck - me being a lazy ass.

Production started some time around February of 2021, and released later in August of that year.

2. What gave you the idea for it?
The original idea for it was a "darker family friendly comic". Which, didn't exactly end up happening, as the story progressed. But where it ended up became a "heavily exaggerated retelling" of some issues I went through when I was younger.

So once upon a time, I came up with an awesome new word for a special location in this series! "Dreamscape" It's so simple, but so fitting, I can't believe no one's thought of it before...! Right?
