This is a weird question but is there modern day tension between Swedish and Finnish people? When I was a kid my best friend was Swedish- Australian. Her mother was Swedish and dad was Aussie. Later on I heard from my Grandfather that our Great grandfather immigrated to Aus from Finland. I told my friend that and then she just stopped talking to me. She wouldn't even tell me why. o_o

Among most young people? No. Not really.

Odd that the swede acted pissy. If anyone has the rights to be angry, it's the finnish people. We were the assholes who stole their land, after all.

@hotsubsandwich When I talked to my unborn child, it was saying "I want to be born, I want to live," just over and over.

Made me feel bad about aborting it.

Omg! I just laughed, was I supposed to?? I’ll feel bad if I wasn’t supposed to :joy:

@joe_galindez I mean, Michael's is having a sale on their Halloween supplies... Don't give me too many funny ideas. Xp Thanks fellow human, you brought me much laughter while I was stressing out!

The whole point of these and many other similar posts on Twitter were not to "devalue the victims" but address how mass shooting after mass shooting, it's always about "prayer" and nothing much about actually fixing the problem.

Don't blame him for your "desensitized to mass shootings", that sounds like your own personal problem. Every mass shooting stills horrifies me, no matter what people like Wheaton say.

I'm almost a month behind on my comic updates, when I only planned on being one week late. (For a convention I was going to), but noooo, life wouldn't slow down, and so I had to deny hanging out with friends tonight. Cause I've done plenty of that in the past 3 weeks, and if I ever want to get taken seriously in comics and eventually make some cash on it, I gotta take it seriously myself. Too bad my anxiety doesn't see it this way. I feel like a shit friend when I deny to "stay home and draw". But hey, I have fans I need to give stuff to, and I love making my comic.

I need my anxiety to SHUT UP. AAAAAAH.

That's all.

That could have been expressed in a far better way that doesn't shit on people's faith, though. Even if you don't think people should be praying for the victims, you need to realize that if you get aggressive, grab something that is very personal and important to many people and throw it in the shitter, then anything you say after doing that won't carry much weight. If anything you'll convince people to do the exact opposite of whatever you're saying. Which, being very anti-gun myself and living in a country with strict gun laws, I think is pretty sad to see.

I gotta agree. I even find it insulting when people try to bring their religion into something that may not involve the same faith (or any at all), but I fail to see the value in just foaming at the mouth and acting like a rabid animal. People were clearly displaying good intent, they weren't saying "I hope the victims burn in hell." It's why I do not blame people at all for seeing atheists as angry little cave trolls. Honestly they do most the of the shit stirring online by always dragging the topics into a mud slinging contest.

I'm not telling people not to pray, it just the concept of praying is to find comfort with yourself. It's a way of self mourning but it doesn't do much to fix things, hence the whole concept "faith without works is dead".

I personally can't stand militant atheists. And I do agree some need to just keep their options to themselves.

Simply praying helps nothing. I know some very intelligent christians who would agree on that. They usually say something along the lines of "God helps those who are ready to help themselves."

Which, honestly, if I was some god I wouldn't help people just because they asked nicely. If I did that, they could just run rampant and do whatever the fuck they want and then just ask me to fix it. No fuck you, humans, you fucking fix your own shit, you are the ones that created guns and war so you better wipe your own asses like adults and bloody deal with it. Stop fucking killing each other cus you know what everytime you start this shit I need to call some people in to expand heaven and add bathrooms and I can't afford it anymore. Especially not with the immigration crisis since hell had that financial crisis and had to shut their doors.

It's 3am in Sweden I am so very sorry.

there's this new guy on tapas whose username is exactly the same as mine except that he has one letter missing. he already published a couple of comics and already popular meanwhile i'm still in progress with my first ep. i don't like the thought that people will mistake us for each other or me being called a copycat. i had my username way before him i don't want to change it. i don't hate him but why of all the unique names =_=

For less depressing bitching...

I hate that people suggest to draw your own hands as references. Yeah, except I have tiny kid hands with clubbed thumbs. My thumbs are also extremely double jointed...more or less they are not a good example of the standard hand.

@hotsubsandwich My second son turned four this year. We couldn't have done anything anyway, but it's interesting that he laid low after that and allowed us to think it was a false alarm. We attributed Michelle's weight gain to stress. It wasn't until six months into the pregnancy that it became too obvious to ignore. Only then did he start to kick.

It's one reason I became a moderate pro-lifer. I won't stop you from getting one, but you can't tell me there's nothing wrong with it.

@NickRowler That's right. Ryan, a public figure, should've told people to make a donation, write to their congressman, beat up a minority, anything. Because it would've been better than just doing the rosary.

clubbed thumbs

The Murderer's Thumbs!

Not really, during hockey season the shit gets really petty, but outside of that finns like all their neighbours (except russians) fine. Honestly, the people finnish have a problem with is the fenno-swedes, not actual swedish.

at least Webtoons is generous enough to cover the artist's bills. there's this creator i know who solely makes comics for a living.

I don't know if anyone bitched about it yet, but I hate when people pledge stuff on my patreon, steal all patron-only content, then take off their pledge without paying anything. Please, Patreon, can you please do something about it? Ugh.

artists need to take better care of themselves, especially us digital ones.
it pains me to see how many artists online will complain/joke about overworking themselves (getting hand cramps, back pains, headaches) and just call it part of being an artist.
and a lot of the artists i keep tabs on seem to have some sort of muscle-related illness that makes art hard for them at times. but i have to ask, could being hunched over a cintique for 10 years 10 hours a day with your hand wrapped around a stylus without a break have something to do with it? it makes me wonder, and worries me sometimes to the point of wanting to go traditional.
i do not want to become that person 15 years from now.
i love what i do but, i love my health even more.

you should too.

(if you draw for a living, i understand it might be more difficult to just "pull away," but at least try to take a break every now and then!)
