Well, I don't really have a webcomic... yet... but I am building up some characters who will be in it once I do! That counts, right? I feel like I've gotten a bit carried away already, though.
Veeery outdated images, ehheh. Here's two out of the five main characters, Sho:
and Miyu:
Also, I've kind of made them react differently than they normally would with some questions. For instance, some questions are kind of dodged due to spoilers and/or just me not feeling comfortable sharing certain plot-thingies yet. And at other times I've made them act unsubtle and shaky about certain things when in the story they might address it more calmly and even lie through their teeth so I could hint at those things better. And there are also instances where they might react differently depending on who they're with and who they're talking to (for instance, Sho is a lot more playful and open around Miyu than he is around anyone else). It's all kind of weird. I want to try to answer all of them the best I can, though.
------------------------- Part 1: The Basics -------------------------
1.) What is your full name?
Sho: I'm Takawa Sho. Er, well, I guess a lot of you guys would say the given name first, right off the bat, huh (I don't get it)?
Miyu: Uchikura Miyu! Nice to meet you!
2.) When and where were you born?
Sho: I was born on March 5th, 1948, in my own home in Tomonoura, actually. Let's just say a lot could've gone wrong if I were born in a hospital.
Miyu: Hmm, I think I was born in some hospital in Fukuyama, though I don't really remember the name. I was born on New Year's Eve, 1947! It's a little inconvenient, since it's easy to forget my birthday when my parent's shop is so busy and everyone's celebrating, but it sure feels great to be older. nudges Sho
Sho: Pfft, you may be older, but you'll never be able to get this. snatches hat, holds it up high whilst walking backwards
Miyu: H-hey, no fair! reaches desperately I've already finished growing...! GET BACK HERE chases
3.) Who are/were your parents? Names, occupations, personalities, etc.
Sho: My dad's been dead since I was a baby, so I don't really remember much about what he was like, nor could I really receive any guidance from him. As for my mom, I feel like she's the type of person who was loved by everyone at school, but isn't exactly one of the favorites at work - she's a secretary. But she's pretty cool. She's very laid-back and young at heart, and lets me drink coffee with her in the mornings.
Miyu: My dad's first name is Makoto, and my mom's is Chiyo. My mom is a little on the sterner side and probably is the one who keeps things together a lot of the time. My dad is more carefree and a joker, and so my mom often gives him a hard time. But it's in a playful way, I think. They love each other very much and seem very happy. They also run a ramen shop together, and I help out whenever I can, and that can be fun! I've gotten to know a lot of the regulars and they're kind of like family, too. Everyone's been so kind and has done their best to take care of me and make me happy; they mean the world to me and I love them all so much.
4.) Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Sho: I'm an only child. I can only imagine how much of a handful having siblings would be.
Miyu: I'm an only child, too. Oh, but wouldn't having a little sister be so much fun? We could share a bedroom and play games and I could tell her stories and dress her up in cute clothes---
Sho: Don't tell me, you'd do her hair just like yours, too?
Miyu: Of course! What's wrong with that?
Sho: You look like an alien with that hair-do.
Miyu: Eh? If I'm an alien, then what are you supposed to be? points at Sho's head
5.) Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Sho: I live in a small, two-story house in Tomonoura with my mom. My mom works for a decent part of the day so she's gone for a while, but even when she's home, she's very laid-back, so it's usually very quiet in the house. She likes to lament upon her life as an adult a lot, though. She says that so much about her has changed since she was a kid, yet she sounds so much like a kid saying it, heheh. As for Tomo... it's... okay, I guess. It always smells like fish... ick.
Miyu: Tomo's a little on the crowded side. Everything's right next to each other, including the houses. But I think that's a good thing. Like, the market is just a short bike ride away, if not a short walk away. And everyone's family here! Especially with the shop; when I come home I see many familiar faces, not just my parents'. Although the shop tends to make things even more crowded than usual, since our actual living space is confined to the upper floor. Oh! Yeah! I also live right next door to Sho! It's great 'cuz he gives me rides to school every day.
Sho: Surely I'm good for more than that.
Miyu: Heheh, although I really can't recommend living in Tomo - or in Japan, really - if you can't stand fish. It's a mystery as to why the gods thought Tomo would be a good place for Sho. Sho just lives off coffee.
6.) What is your occupation?
Sho: Oh, I'm just a student. If you ask me, that's already too much. My lazy time is precious. (edit: also a full-time insensitive jerkwad)
Miyu: I help out at the shop whenever I can after school, but I wouldn't say it's a job, though... more like a given. I love it, though! S-speaking of which, please stop by sometime! I guarantee, you'll love it! I'd make a recommendation, but honestly, everything's really good, so...! bows
Sho: She's obligated to do this to everyone.
7.) Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Sho: Uh, sure...
Height: 5'8
Weight: 148 lb
Hair color: White
Eye color: Blue-green
Style of dress: Pretty sure the fact that I'm Japanese yet naturally look like this is enough of a fashion statement. I just wear t-shirts, dress shirts, khakis... stuff like that. Nothing special.
Distinguishing marks: Me, as a whole.
Miyu:
Height: 5'2
Weight: Y-y... you don't need to know that...
Hair color: Dark brown
Eye color: Dark brown
Style of dress: Eeh... I wouldn't say it's anything special. It's pretty plain, I think. I don't think I'd look good in anything else...
Distinguishing marks: Hmm, I don't know... does anything about me really stand ou--
Sho: Nope. You're delightfully average.
Miyu: 10/10, for knowing how to make a girl feel special.
Sho: Hey, anytime. That's my job, actually - you can go edit that back into the previous question if you'd like.
8.) To which social class do you belong?
Sho Well... it seems like everybody's middle-class, or working-class. I'll just assume the two of us fit in there somewhere. Or, at least, our parents do.
Miyu: All I know is that Sho, himself, doesn't get paid squat for his "job." A smack upside the head, maybe.
Sho: Always worth it, nonetheless.
9.) Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Sho: ...
Miyu: ...a-ah... i-it's... none of your concern... right? Let's talk about something else...
10.) Are you right or left-handed?
Miyu: Oh, that's easy! startles Sho out of sulking I'm ambidextrous, so I can pat my head with my left hand and flick Sho in the forehead with my right hand, see?
Sho: I don't think that's how it wo-- OW FUCK
(both are righties)
11.) What does your voice sound like?
Miyu: Well, I don't know about my voice, but I guess Sho's voice is more medium, like it's not as deep as a lot of guys' voices at our school. But it's not high-pitched, either. He usually isn't too loud, either, but his voice is very clear-sounding, I guess.
Sho: ruffles hair ...I'd say... your voice is a little soft.
Miyu: Hmm? Soft?
Sho: Well, not like it's quiet, but more like... it's gentle and... sweet, I guess. Y'know, soft.
Miyu: snickers
Sho: W-what? What are you laughing for?
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Sho: Miyu likes to say "mecchanko∼! " a lot, in that typical squeaky girl voice.
Miyu: I don't know about words, but Sho likes to make a lot of moaning and grumbly noises, heheh.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
Sho: Uh... shakes out coat a lot of wrappers... and crumbs... apparently some disposable chopsticks...?
Miyu: Geez, no wonder why your grades are no good; you're so disorganized! As for me, I say pockets are for hands. The only thing I keep in there is this. holds up necklace with shell-shaped locket Jewelry isn't allowed in school, so I wear it during breaks, when the teachers aren't looking. It's our little secret, all right?
Sho: Seriously, you don't have to wear that thing all the time...
Miyu: Huh? But that would be such a waste! You gave it to me, after all.
14.) Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
looks at each other
Sho: Mm.
Miyu: Nope!
Sho: We're perfect, obviously.
------------------------- Part 2: Growing Up -------------------------
15.) How would you describe your childhood in general?
Miyu: Oh, being a kid was so much fun! Me and Sho used to hang out with all sorts of kids. For a while we played with the older kids. We used to do all sorts of stuff, like playing baseball in the street and making giant forts around the house. And then there was this one time in the market where we were all pretending to be pirates. The older kids were sneaking around, stealing food from the stands. Once I was pressured to grab something, instead of running I started bawling my eyes out right then and there, heheh. Everyone else was basically forced to return their stuff and apologize, although I think the adults were more focused on trying to get me to stop crying.
Sho: Many have come and gone since then...
Miyu: Yeah... the older kids left eventually. And we didn't have the best of luck in making other friends for a while. But we did fine by ourselves, I think! We played make-pretend all the time and always went on crazy adventures. I wouldn't be surprised if at one point we accidentally wandered out of Tomo. We made friends in middle school, though - Nariko and Taichi.
Sho: Oi, Nariko's scary.
Miyu: Ehheh, I wouldn't say that...
16.) What is your earliest memory?
Sho: I don't know how old I was, but I remember sitting on the floor, staring at the cat. I was about to touch her nose when she pounced on me and startled me.
Miyu: I... might remember being born. Like, I can picture slowly coming into a bright light, with blurry faces smiling at me--
Sho: Don't write that down; that's impossible.
Miyu: B-but I can picture it so easily! Er, I mean, I guess it could've been a dream or something, or...
17. How much schooling have you had?
Miyu: We're both 1st years in high school.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Sho: grumbles
Miyu: Heheh, school's all right! Taking notes and tests aren't that fun, of course, but having friends makes it worthwhile, I think.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Sho: ...skills? Uh...
Miyu: I probably don't have that much... but it would probably make sense that any skills and abilities I have are probably from my parents or from school.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Sho: ruffles hair Er, I didn't really look up to anybody. I was pretty independent.
Miyu: I feel like I admired all of the adults in Tomo, not just my parents. I remember I'd wander into some of the shops and touch and ask about everything. Sometimes they'd even give us little assignments. I remember Sho being particularly clumsy at them, heheh.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Sho: My mom and I got along fine. Not much else to say about that, really.
Miyu: I went to my parents for everything. They always gave me their best advice and even though my parents were still running the shop back then, they always found time for me. I'm really lucky to have such a great family!
22. As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
Sho: I know there was a time when I was pretty dead-set on being a baseball player. Thank goodness I got over that crazy idea.
Miyu: Huh...? But being a baseball player would be so cool!
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Sho: We did all sorts of stupid stuff.
Miyu: We liked playing with boxes! We would jump inside them and pretend they were all sorts of things! We also played baseball a lot and ran all around Tomo.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
Sho: I was kind of an... angry kid.
Miyu: Er, I'm not really sure... am I really any different from when I was little?
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Miyu: Well, as I said, we mainly played with the neighborhood kids when we were little, but after that we didn't exactly have the best of luck in making friends...
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Sho: Ew, kisses? With a girl? looks at Miyu Don't they have cooties?
Miyu: Huh? What are you, a little kid?
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Sho: You've got to be joking.
Miyu: blushes N-no, nothing like that!
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Sho: Don't tell me you actually believe in stuff like that... ruffles hair
Miyu: ...w-well, as for me... I guess what helped me to be who I am today and do the things I did and still do is my parents. I can't imagine what it'd be like without their guidance. And I have a lot of great friends, too! I guess that's about it... right? glances at Sho
Sho: Mm.
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Sho: Well, technically, being born.
Miyu: Uwaaah, all these questions are so hard! No wonder why Sho's always weaseling out of them.
Sho: I'm not weaseling, I'm just... skillfully dodging.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
31.What do you consider your greatest achievement?
32.What is your greatest regret?
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
38.What is your best memory?
39.What is your worst memory?
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
41.What is your greatest fear?
42. What are your religious views?
43. What are your political views?
Miyu Er... I don't exactly know too much about politics...
Sho: I don't really care.
44. What are your views on sex?
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Sho: ...who do you think you're talking to?
Miyu: I-I would never kill anyone! No one should have their life taken away from them.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Sho: grumbles
Miyu: Well, my mom and dad are really happy together, so I guess that could be considered true love.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Sho: I'm not sure if a biased or predjuced person would really recognize or admit to that...
Miyu: I don't have any that I know of... I try to be nice to everyone, no matter how different they might be.
Wow, halfway through already! Gotta catch up on these!
