The funniest present you ever gave or received for Christmas?

I once had my uncle call me up and he described this "idea" he had, which was an alarm clock with wheels that would sound an alarm and wheel off the table and you'd have to catch it wandering around to hit snooze. My mom and I thought it was a hilarious idea and left it at that. Cut to months later and I open my Christmas present from him AND ITS THAT EXACT CLOCK. HE HAD JUST BEEN MESSING WITH US ALL ALONG AND LIED SO HE COULD GET ME SOME WEIRD CLOCK

My brother-in-law hates Applebees with a passion. I have no idea why. It's cheap drinks and an casual date night dinner, but yeah. He hates it. He told us he wanted gift cards for Christmas so we got him an Applebees giftcard.

I thought it was hysterical. He was like "Thanks..." and trying to be nice about it with this massive fake smile. Then, after we handed out the rest of the gifts, we gave him his real present (a hockey jersey) and took the card back lol. Kind of a lame 'funny' gift, but we found it funny

My family never took Christmas seriously so we always gave each other a bunch of cheap gag gifts or, in my dad's case, random things found around the house. A couple of my favorites:

• My brother used to live pretty far away and flew home pretty often. He complained about being bored sometimes so I went out and threw together a children's entertainment grab bag which included: a pack of exactly 4 crayons and a Beauty and the Beast coloring book. He ended up using them on the flight back.
• My mom looooves her slippers. Like, LOVES them. About a week or two before Christmas she misplaced one of them, so she had to resort to her less favorite pair (not as comfy, not as cute, etc). Come Christmas, she opens up my dad's gift for her and lo and behold, it was her missing slipper! Apparently she actually had misplaced it somehow (or the dog stole it, not sure which), but my dad found it and instead of just giving it to her had wrapped it up all nice and stuck it under the tree

My husband’s family like to play a card game called “Poo Head” Basically the loser (last to get rid of their cards) is dubbed a poo head.

He and his sister get quite competitive (and are both really good at it), so for Christmas one year he asked me to make her a plush emoji poo hat - which she loved. It now comes out at Christmas time for the poo head championships.

You have to wear the crown of poo until someone else looses.

A friend of mine jokingly made a purposefully bad/edgy sonic OC one night while drunk and hanging out with some people. The next time I visited, while he was in the bathroom or something one of his roommates pulled out the drawing to show me:

"Purples the Chinchilla"

had a likes/dislikes list out to the side and in big letters "OC DO NOT STEAL". Classic stuff. So I took a photo and thought "man, it would be pretty funny if I stole his OC for Christmas". So, like, this is what I gave him for Christmas that year:

My friends and I did a secret santa last year, and the gift exchange coincided with the due date of our group films. Earlier, my friend had seen Gus the Stegosaurus (pictured below) at the mall and jokingly said "whoever's my secret santa please give him to me."

That is exactly what I did! We let him walk around the lab as our film was rendering and what I did not realize was that Gus is loud. I have vivid memories of loud dino screaming and people looking around to see wtf just happened.

Apparently Gus kept people company while our film was still rendering at 2AM and most people had already left the lab

Not my present tho, but my sister gave my brother Superman 64 however it looked like someone pulled it out of a trashcan. I guess she got it from a retro gaming store and it was dirt cheap.

My daughter and I made a song for my brother. We have a yearly tradition of eating "raclette", which basically is sitting all day long around a table and eating way too much melted cheese with potatoes and cured meat... so we made a song where my daughter is playing the potato and I play the cheese, and we end up eaten by my brother... it's in french though... but lyrics basically describe my brother and his husband picking cheese from the fridge and unearthing potatoes, cooking us, and eating us... and in the end cheese and potato meet in someone's stomach...

So, my grandpa has a habit of trolling my grandma. He's taken to using a scooter around the house which spooks my grandma because she has dolls everywhere. My grandpa tells her now when she starts telling him to be careful "WRECK THAT HOUSE, WRECK THAT HOUSE" and grandma is just like : |

Me and the fam schemed a gift for grandpa that's a mug that says "WRECK THAT HOUSE" and the back says "...because I want too!" (Grandpa always responds "Because I want too!" when grandma gets hyper over things. It's honestly adorable and hilarious because they're not actually seriously fighting.)

I probably would have done something similar, but instead of a knit your own sock kit, I would have gifted a sock...monkey xD Or a sock with holes for the eyes and mouth out to look like a (discount) burglar and written "in case you ever get bored of your day job" note xD

TAPE every year from my parents. As a kid I would use a lot of tape. I likes to make things out of paper, but my parents were mad that I would use all the tape in the house. So, for christmas, they stated giving me scot tape of my own to use. As an adult I still get tape (although less) and it is fantastic. I will always have at least one role of tape a year, so I can attach notes, and etc...

We made a gift card for our friends on a roll of toilet paper. She was really surprised and it was funny. We draw there different funny pictures and wishes. Honestly, even a funny gift can be memorable and pleasant. The main thing is to do it from the heart. Indeed, I like it very much. I think it can be a nice gesture of attention to my friends for Christmas.
