Due the official MangaStudio facebook&twitter accounts still doesn't anounced (The CSP did this morning), I want to tell to those who didn't know yet that there is a new version for MS/CSP that can, among other new thigs, make animatios.

This is the release note + download links:
http://www.clipstudio.net/en/dl/release_note46

And remember than Manga Studio and Clip Studio are the same program, so your serial number works for both. The new version doesn't overwrite the previous, so basically you can have both, but it keeps all your stuff (brushes, shortcuts, etc.)

Thanks so much for posting this! smile I hope I'll get around to making some animations!

I just downloaded and installed the new version, looks good so far, but just to be 100 % sure: This download is meant to be free for people who've already bought any of the other versions, so I'm not going to get one of those "Your 30-day free trial is up"? I don't see the point in having both versions if the new one has the all the same features as the old one plus some extra. But I don't want to uninstall in case there's something I've missed...it's a pretty big upgrade, almost seems too good to be true that it's for free!

AS A 2D ANIMATOR THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME

I'll check this out! Hopefully it's better than the other "options" for digital 2D animation ... (those options being adobe flash - which sucks - and toon boom, which is expensive as hell. There ARE other programs but they're not much better either u o u I hope CSP turns out differently!). It's not a separate version you need to purchase though, is it? I have a valid license for CSP so if it's just an update I can install, great. If not, might not be buying this until the next time it goes on that awesome 70% sale x3"""

Me when i saw the update that specially said the part where users can now make animations

Me too! It will be easier to make animations (because I prefer ClipStudios' tools for drawing). I used to make every frame in CSP and build the gif in Gimp.

I'll have to check this out when I get the chance, sounds pretty interesting, I always wanted to try for small animations but an all new program is out of my price range, while learning an all new program often causes me to go insane. (If there is one thing I hate it's learning a new program ><)

(I'm still hoping on an update that will let us edit the shapes and perspective of text ><)

Hmmm.. I wanna know if this update also applies to the Manga Studio/CSP applications bought through Smith Micro as I have friends and family who got it from there.

OMG finally!!!! I was so jealous of the japanese guys and had so many ideas for animations. FINALLY tears of joy T^T

Yes. It's free for those who already have MS5/CPS serial number. Aniway, about downloading the 30-day-free, it's going to work also. In my case, and after a disaster happened in my imac, I downloaded the 30freedays, put my serial and it works as a "forever mine" version.

Yes ,it does. I also bought mine via Smith Micro.

The new feature I'm drooling over is text wrapping. FINALLY!!!
I freaking HATED having to hard return the text inside the the word balloon. This will make life so much easier.

But this is Clip Paint. Does this mean Manga Studio studio users have to switch to Clip Paint for this upgrade? I know it's the same program, but can't be called the same thing due to licensing restrictions, but does this mean Manga Studio will be releasing a new version as well, or are we going to have to switch over to the new name?

(I kinda like calling it Manga Studio...)

EDIT

Just took a look on Twitter and it looks likes @mangastudio is now known as Clip Studio Paint. Looks like they are transitioning MS users into the "new" program.

Nice! It probably would have taken me way longer to notice the update on my own, so this heads up is much appreciated smiley

One of the few advantages I felt Photoshop had was that it was better for putting together animations...
.....I'll have to try this later, but well done once again MangaStudio peoples. XD

I waited so long for this update, now I don't need to use Photoshop at all.

Oh thank you for the heads up! I wouldn't have known about this otherwise smile
