Can a non-magical superhero be placed in the Fantasy genre? Even if there are magical supervillians in the series?
Why not? I think it'd be even more interesting to see how this person without powers will defeat someone that does have them.
I think you have a really good hook here.
And just like the previous comment or said, be super interesting to see how he adapts to tackle obstacles.
If your having trouble, just ask, "what would batman do?"
Go for it, there are tons of interesting concepts for a "non-magical/superpowered" hero, and its interesting to see how they grow and develop in a fantasy world.
If you want a reference, I recommend Steelheart , part of the reckoner series written by Brandon Sanderson who is renown for his fiction works.
He or she could thinks they can fly ware's a towel for a cape then can't fly learns he/she superpower of the pen. He/she can draw manga in the real world anything he/she the heros draws become a reality and can be use of whatever the heros draw it for.
I couldn't find your references on this site, but I'm already working on a fighting scene and I should put screenshots of I on this forum for your opinion though.
Oh, hehehe My bad, Steelheart is a officially published book, and I really liked the series which depicts those with powers as "corrupted" instead of Heros. Because of that, the protagonist is just a normal guy who fights against the super powered villains for the sake of revenge.
Also, yeah, I'd be glad to give my opinion. Can't wait to see it.
Sure! My novel is a fantasy where some people have powers, but my main character is not one of them. I think it’s more interesting that way. Seeing how an “unremarkable” MC navigates a world where everything is fueled by magic or other fantasy elements is such a cool concept to me!
