I've only had my first dose so far (Pfizer), and I felt vaguely run down and tired afterward for a few hours, until I took a nap. I wonder how that bodes for my second dose... O_o

Right, I didn't need a nap after the first dose, but I was dumb enough to go run 5 miles UPHILL the day after. I got so nauseated and skipped school the next day.

And then the second dose happened. I'm hoping that it's true that the side effects wear off after 24 hours, cause I've got like, and hour and a half left. Hopefully, it won't hit you as hard

I've only had my first dose of Moderna, and I had to take a nap afterwards because I felt so tired. Second one is in a couple weeks and I anticipate I'll be out for a couple of days, based on how the rest of my family felt after theirs.

I haven't had either yet, and probably won't until next year because of how badly my federal government have botched the rollout. But, from speaking to my US and UK friends, that second dose can hit like a truck. They've advised to plan for a day or two off work, just in case.

It’s so strange hearing so many people talk about the second dose here. I just got the first one as a childcare worker and finally next week the general public 18 and older are eligible to get it where I live. It’s been so slow. I’m sorry to hear all of you haven’t been feeling well though. I felt a bit tired for a few days with the first one but not much else. I can’t get my second dose until just before school starts again in the fall. The schools are shut down now.

Ah well make you all get lots of fluid and take the rest you need if you’re not feeling well! Don’t overdo it.

Yeah, you'll definitely be out for at least 1 - 2 days, lol. Hopefully the side effects won't be bad!

It DID hit me like a truck

I think my fever just broke, but I'm not going to school tomorrow 'cause of how sore my body is. I am NOT going to Fitness class or Chem, nope nope nope.

Yep, I started drinking more water, and I had a bit of bread, all I can do now is wait (I took a 5 hour nap, lol).

I got hit hard the first shot three days later and with the second shot it was just the arm soreness and a little sleepiness the next day. The first shot was far worse for me.

I just got my 2nd dose today and I'm already staring to feel some side effects. Not looking forward to how I'll be feeling in the morning.

Whaa, the first one wasn't too bad except for the pain in the arm. I wasn't very sleepy either.

The second one took me out, I had a fever and my whole body was/is aching. It was not a good day.

Oof, I feel ya. I started feeling everything at once the morning after. You'll get through it! I did, although it was not a pleasant experience. Try set an alarm every hour to drink some water, and maybe have some chicken soup (all I had today was bread lol, I don't have chicken or soup).

I´m nowhere near my first vaccine
but my mum gets her second vaccine today, my mum & dad both had no side effects from the vaccine

I got Moderna and the second shot knocked me out for a solid 13hrs. My wife had some fatigue and a low grade fever. It passed after a day or two, you're all good.(at least within the range of side effects)

I got Pfizer and I had less symptoms with my second shot, only severe arm pain. I had to take some NyQuil to go to sleep 🥲 but after the first day, it ached less

Me too! I got the pfizer one. The jokes about the "hot people vaccine" are endless. My husband has already been on the receiving end of a few "I got the hot people vaccine, babe. this is proof that I'm a 'hot people.'"
