Daaaaang! Seeing this really makes me want to invest and put all my neglected sketchbooks to good use. What's in your traditional art supply arsenal?

Here's one of my characters Noah Chompsky. He's a vampire dinosaur with the ability to change size and fly.

@simonitropunk All that hard work has certainly paid off. :grinning::+1:

@Aleksei I’m still paying off my student loans. :sweat_02: I possibly spend less these days, as I work digitally, but I have purchased a couple of drawing tablets that didn’t suit me, as well as software I’ve tinkered with… only to run back to Photoshop. :joy:

@DanielRKM Well, as for now, as I am trying to develop a sense of values, and shadows, I am working with an 8H Derwent Graphic pencil for the sketchs, and 0.3 sakura mechanical pencil for final sketch, a G-pen for the outlines (I bought the 'deleter trial pen set' with other nibs, but that one I liked the best), and Kuretake black ink; for the inside lines I use a 005 Pigma Micron tracer pen, a Kuretake Brush Pen for the whole black areas (I don't want to use the ink for that, is too much black xd), annd maybe some other tracer for the details, a 10 white Sakura Gelly Roll, to fix mistakes and add shine... and that would be all for now.
I just bought some a grey set of TouchNew markers, but I still need them to get delivered home, and then I will add some more depth to my drawings, if I end up understanding well how to use them xd.
Now I need an scanner, because I don't think that my cellphone is doing justice to the hard work that takes doing a traditional drawing! I would gladly hear names of scanners from the community, as I have no idea wich is good to scan drawings n_nU

@Legendofgenii Oh, yeah! I have also spent some money on tablets! The only program I allow myself to be lost in nowdays, though, is Clip Studio Paint. It took me a while to change photoshop for it, but after I found a brush I really liked, I was sold on CSP (a pack of 10 brushes from JimmyReyesArt in Gumroad, if anyone wants to go and buy it, only for 10 dollars). Who knows, maybe if I find another brush for photoshop I might go back there =P

working on reference sheets. kinda makes you think a bit more of how to draw in general. LOL :sweat_02:

Trying to work on males and stuff. Doing free headshots for some folks and don't complete hate it? Lol.

Update:

I bought two new 샤프 (mechanical pencils) for about CAD$20 each which means my art should be $40 good from now on. I gave them a bit of a run this evening.

The all metal build was comfy and gave me a good grip. Being metal suggests that maybe they'll last me more than the cheaper pencils I tend to buy, but all I can say to that is CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, STAEDTLER JAPAN!

@Calculus_Homework the one in the upper middle with dark hair made me think of Taxedo Mask 🤭:blusht:

More hugging chibis because first time I failed to hear what Dark wanted (but I will still use yesterday's ones somewhere). Made these into WT rating banner since someone ruined it xD mothafookers

There's a tea place in my town that both has really good tea and puts a little trinket or treabie on the cup. This smol pompom creetur lives on top of my monitor now.

Some of the material for my first comic drawing lessons for kids that I do in my hometown.
There was a lot of interest for the course, I´ll teach 5 girls and 5 boys. I tried out some of my
drawing tutorials with some teenagers last thursday and they really liked it.

@allenT omg these are absolutely great :heart_01:

@Lensing happy to hear your course is popular! :smug_01: the materials look really professional :relieved:
/me, secretly learning some German from them >D/

Thank you, I tried to come up with a super simple way to draw the torso and to get the proportions right
because that´s something I struggled with a lot when I tried to learn how to draw.

I don´t know if kids in other countries also play that drawing game, in germany it´s called "Das Haus vom Nikolaus"
Santa Claus house. Every kid knows it, you connect the lines without stoping and try to draw the house.
And that´s what my figure drawing technique is based on. 2 times the house without a roof.
The advantage of that is that every kid is familiar with it and I don´t have to tell them to draw squares or
something abstract like that
